There's nothing stopping anyone from forming a non-system controlling faction or group (assuming they don't act like jack***** and start causing trouble all over the place). Hell, they don't even really need to make a post...although it is nice for the rest of us to know what XYZ stands for.
The primary thing with the formation of your clan was the claiming of systems (which has been a very hot topic for this server in the past). Igiss has finally say on all system claims. I maintain a map of all current system claims and a general tag listing in the 2nd official faction thread (also has the faction diplomacy chart).
I'm very good at keeping them up to date and I believe both are current except for your faction since you just started.
Once I have confirmation from Igiss on your factions system claims and NPC alignment I'll update both the map and the tag listing.
Last time I Checks CYLON was still on there...

1) Control zones are no more. Right now they don't exist. Later I might get them back, one way or another.
2) I still insist on NPC alignments, however, in next mod version rules are going to change significantly. Therefore, right now I insist that you stick to the Home system/Faction model that I enforce.
3) "However, we are not pirates. So I guess we are a semi-legal clan." - meaning that you cannot ally with Corsairs.
"If we MUST be associated with an NPC faction, it will be the Corsairs and the Junkers."
I hope that's enough. Magellan was already claimed (by two factions, for some unknown reason, though I approved only one). I suggest you choose junkers and make Sigma-13 or Omega-15 your home... Corsairs are out of question.
But I do feel really limited on the faction.... :(
Why can't a clan be aligned with any NPC faction?
(the game has like 50 NPC factions and there are only about 15 or so clans that are associated with NPC's)
And why are the other Omegas not open???
Why are SO many systems closed for that matter???
Why not all factions are listed? You may suggest other factions if you are interested, but not Corsairs and Outcasts. Trading factions not included here, for... well, it won't really make sence.
Open system = System with a base of the faction you are aligned to + Free from other factions.
