It saddens me how, a feature that would make the Elder Scrolls games even more awesome, has flopped horribly in the past.

I have hope but solo RPG's are so much safer.

I don't think it'll do that well as a MMO, at least with it's current looks and pay model.

Would've much preferred if they had simply put multiplayer in skyrim, local or internet coop where you invite dudes over for a few quests. That'd have been brilliant.

Basically, Agmen, Tabris, Dusty, and Rodent all stated my opinions on it, though I'm only basing it on what I've seen and read. By all accounts, it's not what I'm looking for in either an MMO or an Elder Scrolls game.

In particular:

This kind of small-scale multiplayer seems far better suited to the style of TES than an MMO does.

4-5 person co-op would have been just, divine.

Shroud of the Avatar is allowing for a multiplayer mode that sits in that twilight band between co-op and mmo. Something akin to the Freelancer model in terms of scope.

If it wasn't for my lack of enthusiasm for pretty much any games in the genre I'd be all over it. I suppose Star Citizen is as well but that's going to be a wait of a few more days to say the least.

Making it pay to play will kill it. It is following WOW especially with quests, and quest items. Your going to have to sit and wait for bosses, and items to respawn along with a 100 other peeps with no lives.
The graffix are also sub par compared to Skyrim.

Oh goodie, another MMO with a different coat of paint claiming to be the best thing ever.

Spoiler alert, same thing that happened to Rift will happen again.
