I have mixed feelings about this. For the VR, my initial first impresson of them a long time ago was actually very good (recently, not so much anymore). The first VR I met in 2009 gave me kudos for landing the cheapest no-fair dirty backstabbing no-morals bounty kill ever on him. Can there be any greater compliment?

It was like this: My bounty hunter Manta with 3 missiles, 2 shieldbusters, and 1 hulbuster (it was the time when you could still mount several missiles, but most people wouldnt cause they didnt know to use missiles well) was sitting next to a fight between [LN] and VR, so that I could just swoop in shortly before an unlawful died and steal the kill and claim a bounty.

One of the VR was almost dead, but made it into cruise, and one [LN] fighter was following him, too far for a CD hit. Through luck, I was able to get in between them, and cruise behind the VR within CD range. The [LN] guy (I think it was Sina as Logan Willows, of all people) ordered me to CD the VR, which my bounty hunter answered with a request for payment to do it, since CDs cost money. The [LN] told me to go to hell and went back to the fight, and when he was out of range, I CDed the VR who had no regens and almost no hull left and slaughtered him with missiles, only to be oorply complimented about my RP and bounty hunting skill. Does anyone of you VR remember that?

When ever I saw the VR afterwards, it made me feel all warm and fuzzy remembering that.

Come on. Names please.

There are many reasons for this, but I can think of one big one: It's no fun playing a game when everyone with any form of power shafts you. I don't even have an issue with people not logging but because that was a direct result overall of the faction getting stepped on over and over again, like it was the first time, and the second. And when we finally got something we wanted, it was so distorted that it wasn't what we spent months requesting over and over at all. By the strictest definitions, yes, it was something along the lines of what we requested. But was it what we asked for? No. Not at all.

Indeed, its no fun to play when everyone who has power shafts you. However, I gotta add that this happened to a whole lot of people before you, and you never seemed to have a problem with it.

But I digress. I actually just meant to ask what you requested, and what you didnt get, out of curiosity.

Well this sucks. Right as I decided to randomly appear again, all the cool guys have already left. ( I kid., everyone's cool.)

Seriously though. It's sad to see how Disco is affecting it's players. I'm really gonna miss the VR, had a lot of fun messing around in Magellan with you.

No, actually Alley. I was looking to see how this affects a potentially lore changing event and how I can remedy something that is in progress.

Go back to threatening to punch people over the internet and essentially continue being a mongrel else where.

You're old news and a nobody here now. Carry on being a prick elsewhere.

This is quite disheartening, I feel overall you guys did nothing wrong, the tedium and work to play a game have caught up with you in the end.

And herein lies the same trap that people will fall into again and again and again. Why is this game, that we come here to play and enjoy in our free time, so often described as work?

I too have made this comparison more than once when working on previous RP's. But what causes the transition from fun to frustration? Is it the expectations of the higher-ups, the community in general, or is the system fundamentally flawed?

Bad timing. LH was gonna switch you to hostiles due to corporate ships supplying your station.

It might have given some motivation to log and taunt each other and then have some PvP. As far as I saw, your life in Kansas was pretty dull.

Had a fun encounter and RP with you people in my RHA char, few weeks back in Dresden, during the siege.
Sad to learn that a good faction's leaving.

Constant fear of losing the only things that gave us any sort of ground in lore, and even then, totally minimal grounding?

Yeah, no thanks, that would have made me quit faster.

Congratulations to you and yours on keeping a grudge going as an entire faction for five years. That's a new record on this server.

Retired, permanently.
