I understand that revolutionaries dont want to have anything to do with pirates. Factions like Hessians, LWB, Bundies, Dragons and MAYBE Mollies. But Rogues and Hackers?

The reason was clearly described by Vulkhard Muller; the players with pirate ID pirated the Rogues and Mollys and Hackers themselves, then used their bases to dock/resupply. The rephack is the inRP consequence of the behaviour of the pirate ID-d players.

As I recall it, it had something to do with indians and a former leader of LR- raging. To me, it is a really negative change.

I'd like a career as a transport pirate captain that supply friends around Liberty when not pirating, but that can't be done.

It just takes a few npcs to get the rep right for docking, is that allowed or is it against the rules?

Plus lots of bans and ooRP hatred/grudge.

However, the request for LR- was resubmitted and accepted long time after that story.

Problem with Pirate ID is not around the issues with 'competition' or something. Those are just InRP excuses for removing them.

Problem with Pirate ID was Pirate IDed PVPwhores who were off to shoot things regardless of their 'pirate' nature. LR faction might even felt like they are minority to all bunches of scoundrels living under their roof w\o getting an LR ID and went for that.

LWB just went to ban FLs and Pirates for god know why - the useless faction made their bases to be useless as well which is really cool. I'd say - why to keep rephack when there is hardly any LWB on server? They died and just left this crap behind. Removing it would be good idea.

Making Pirate IDed ships unable to operate within house space would be a start. But the problem is that anyone can defend themselves if attacked and Pirate IDed players specifically bait lawful forces into shooting first.

EDIT: That can be done with any ID, actually.
Cough zoner battleships in NY, cough.

Yes, indeed. That can be done with any ID - you can load 200 artifacts on a OC\Sair cruiser and go into NY to 'smuggle', yea.. smuggle. If you understand what I mean.

Problem with Pirate ID was just overrated because of excessive amount of l33t pr0s flying them and attacking all they see. Now I don't see how it's an issue so banning entire generic ID is a lame practice.

Well, no. I take it back, not every ID.
Remember what happened to whathisface for taking his Ossie to Rochester.

Any ID within reason, but the idea is still the same. Plop some artifacts on it and most people will gladly take the bait at the promise of shooting something in NY that is NOT the usual rogue or OC or LH.

I gave an extreme example but still - it's easy to provoke a fight so meh. Just Pirate ID was the lil bit easier way. Then it was Merc era. Then the fight against pvpers reached it's critical phases and most of them left the server.
