Just give Outcasts 100% core with BW tech, then Outcasts are free to continue using their Sabres, for those who prefer that ship.

Then all Outcasts are free to keep their Sabres or move to the new Outcast shipline, whichever they prefer, and neither side is penalized for their decision.

The Sabre wasn't "reduced" to BW tech. It was always BW tech.

Even in vanilla, Hessians had Sabres. And the only reason Bundschuh and Hackers didn't is because they didn't have high enough level NPCs, considering they use the rest of the shipline.
