Without any form of communication, any and all factions would cease to exist. Lack of simple tool to organize, casual communication and internal discussion would inevitably end of most if not all non-spontaneous activity on this server. Players would be more isolated, forced to whim of random encounters of truly random quality. Not to mention it allowed me to keep in touch with people who are not on Disco anymore, or in general are hard to reach given timezones and lack of free time. Without Skype, I would likely quit disco back in mid-2009 and never come back, finding no attachment with community whatsoever. Many would follow the suit.
I never has Skype caz i haven't the sufficient speed of internet. So...i play in Disco during years by using only chat))) I cant imagine how is "playing with other players by skype"

How is you knowing my IP a bad thing?
Tracking people by IP is illegal. At least in Poland. And perhaps in majority in Europe, unless you are Police with writ.
On the topic: faction dies sooner or later. Using Messengers is the fastest way to communicate, beating out forum PMs.
