In my opinion, it could replace those ridiculous "galaxy maps" we have now, that are not optimized in the slightest, and are freaking ugly by the way.

There's a difference between menu screens and splash screens. Splash screen is the stationary image that bears the Discovery logo when the game loads. Menu screens are more or less off limits unless you know how to script them.
