Actually, I think they use different engines. I've heard tell that the Crytek engine is superior. o_O.
"Freelancer Alpha dash niner, this is Freeport 7 control, You are cleared for departure. Good luck out there."
Soldato Zavier Benitez, Benitez flight instructor.
You're right. I checked it out.
Ubisoft made their own engine for the game.
Quote:The Dunia Engine was built specifically for Far Cry 2 by Ubisoft Montreal development team. It delivers realistic destructible environments, special effects such as dynamic fire propagation and storm effects, real-time night-and-day cycle, dynamic music system and non-scripted enemy A.I.
The engine will take advantage of multi-core processors as well as multiple processors and support DirectX 9 as well as DirectX 10. Only 2 or 3 percent of the original CryEngine code is being re-used, according to Michiel Verheijdt, Senior Product Manager for Ubisoft Netherlands. Additionally, this engine will be less hardware-demanding than CryEngine 2, the engine used in Crysis.
I have finished the single player campaign of Farcry2 and i'm very dissapointed.
The graphics is really good but the story sucks and is very boring.
I have not encountered any technical problem though even after uninstalling it.
