@ Epo - If that ship didn't look and fly like a lead brick, I might would. LOL.... stats wise its a better ship with higher energy recharge and capable of more damage, but I like the Sunburst.

I am looking at this from an RP perspective, because this is an RP server and I am not interested in better PVP stats, frankly I suck at PVP, but I don't want my RP ship nerf'd either. I want it to be viable in PVE at higher end as well, and I don't mean Nomad fighting either, cause thats too difficulty as well.
I start as a freelancer and buy this ship and equip it out. It works perfectly and I have appropriate rep so that it doesn't change when I decide to join the Junkers.
Now my ship suddenly doesn't work properly???

on another topic, but related, I thought the whole appeal of being a "freelancer" was to be able to do what you wanted to do??? The consequences of your actions being reflected in your rep was your limitation, not that you couldn't fly a large cargo ship or attack terroist groups unless they attacked you first. Shouldn't we be RP'ing off our REP more than the ID??? Shouldn't the ID just reflect citizenship more or less?
@Magnathyr, Things ended up the way they did sometimes for good reasons through trial and error, and sometimes because this is a small community and such a thing always leads to oddness.
Honestly i do not believe that there is any way to change anything if you are not in the "in crowd", but feel free to try, there are a variety of sub forums, i am sure one of them is a good place to request a redesign of these issues that you believe would be better done differently.
Personally, i think these particular restrictions work, they force people into a bit of variety, and they stop certain people from going crazy with unchecked role play, if you also consider that there is the special role play ID it works out rather well, though granted maybe the SRP ID is too hard to get, after all this is a game, if you have to spend more than a few hours to achieve whatever your role play idea is, so long as it is not too unacceptable, perhaps a change of the system is in order.

I understand some, if not most of the reasons for the systems in place with Discovery, but this one in particular I think could use some tweeking for combined RP/Balance purposes.....
For example: I think that in order for you to purchase a "faction" ID you should be ALLIED with that faction in your rep bar, or at the very least on the high end of friendly. That being said, I do not think that you should lose said ID as long as your rep doesn't become hostile(red) with said faction. If you have a certain ID equipped and become hostile with that faction, the first time you dock ANYWHERE, your ID should be replaced with a Freelancer one and your rep left unchanged.
I think that CERTAIN faction ships should require that factions ID to fly. Say in order to fly a Titan VHF you would be required to have a Corsair ID mounted, or an ID of an ALLIED faction..... In order to fly an Odin VHF you would be required to have a Red Hessian ID mounted, or an ID from an ALLIED faction.
That being said, I think a "Freelancer" should be able to fly ANY ship that doesn't require a FACTION SPECIFIC ID, such as the afore mention Titan, Odin, or similar..... a Freelancer could fly one of these ships, but only with something like a 90% power debuf. This would allow someone who has lost their standing with said Faction to limp somewhere to purchase another ship. This could be explained by the Faction in question sending a transmission to the pilots special faction's ship transponder and effectively locking down its powecore.
I think that regulating a players ID by their ACTUAL rep would make more sense. Maybe this would be to complicated in the programming, idk.
again, these are just thoughts here, and I am simply expressing a viewpoint. Whether some agrees or not is entirely up to them, and I am not trying to sway anyone here... Just explaining my thoughts here so that IF these thoughts COULD be better, then they MIGHT get incorperated or bring a change for the better... or NONE of that.___ LOL
I am simply looking for the BEST RP experience possible, not just for myself, but for everyone here as a whole.
