In my opinion, they should really be.. special/good in some way, considering their rarity and restriction to very, very few factions. An alternative to faction guns, sacrificing something for something else?
Maybe exceptional range, projectile speed, or something of the sort?
Overall they should get a buff though, since nobody really uses them due to them being worse than faction guns in most scenarios.
How about a bonus damage against nomad shields/ships?

Maybe turning them to something like 8.33s with no penalties to shields? I mean direct damage which won't be nerfed by shield's multiplier. So somewhere between codename stuff as it was in vanilla if I remember well

Only Order / Core and house intelligence factions can use them as far as I know. Thats not a lot at least imo. I'm all for the buff.
It should definitely be possible to make them more effective against nomad and wild shields through damage types, but i'm not sure about the hull damage.
It would also make sense, nomad weaponry would probably be most effective against their own stuff.

Yes, lets turn it to the state again where humans have more nomad weaponry mounted than infected humans.

The developers decided to balance out nomad stuff changing it from a little better than humans to average or below average. Why should they start making weapons aimed on a certain faction that will be unreasonably hit by that change?
