@"Snake" I'm absolutely on your side.
Missions are Missions and are a lot harder then the rest. Before the server crash I posted something similar. There should NOT be more NPC's who disturb a trade lane, but in clouds and near bases there should be more of them. The last time I fly to a guard system with two comrades was extreme disappointing, zero NPC enemy's...
A other point I want to mention is, that the NPC's should use 99 to 100% their shipline if they have one, like the Red Hessian, Corsair, etc... A Red Hessian NPC fighter pilot has to fly a Odin or Loki and not a Sabre or Switchblade. All ship-lines look good, but a real nation or group will use their own, that's more realistic.
Or yeah crowded areas would be nice, like Omega-55 or Iota, Drake, Kappa in which Alien NPCs are more and a lil tough so some people just can go relax with a friend going there into some "adventure mode" and shoot NPCs.
Well at the least not Iota or Kappa. Iota is the Nomad home system, and thus is a place to raid. Having high level NPCs everywhere would get annoying. And Kappa is a highway system between Delta and Gamma. High level NPCs in there would not only be annoying to people raiding AI, but also for ships trying to travel through.

But it would make it that much more dangerous and adventurous, exciting. No? I mean imagine the system having those NPCs and you know it, so you choose if you want a safer path you go through O-74 /Theta, if you want to risk it you go through Kappa. Highway but with its pros and cons.
