In my time on Discovery, I think that the ol' Crow was my most used, favorite ship. I flew it first under the (Nova PowerGen) Blood Dragon faction, then eventually for the Xeno Alliance. Amongst our Eagle swarms, the Crow felt different. I loved it's rusty appearance, as well as the fact that it had a large enough cockpit for four people.
The engines were AMAZING. Seeing your entire fighter soaked in the red glow of 12 engines was glorious.
It was big, yes. But the size oddly made me feel powerful - with such agility thanks to my dangerously overcharged engines, no one stood a chance! (Okay, maybe they did. The Crow was BIG)
It's the ship I rose to the rank of Royal in the XA - with only a few others claiming said rank. I feel like I grew up in that old Crow of perfect firing arc and terrible core.
Then one day, sadly, she was replaced by a vessel that, while at first glance looks pretty slick, is ultimately a different ship entirely.
The Jackdaw has its place, don't get me wrong. But I have terrible experience with ships like the Corsair Gladiator, and the Jackdaw is pretty much a civilian clone.
If the Crow was brought back, I get that it wouldn't be the same model. But if its returning model had the same texture, stats and those 12 engines I remember? I would fly her again in a heartbeat. I miss that old Moldy Crow and it's wonderful responsive agility; her wicked size and sharp edges.
But those engines I think - I miss those the most. Anyone else whoever flew one can agree that the Crow in cruise was certainly a sight to see.
...Sorry, got a little carried away there. In short: I love and miss the Crow. I would definitely support its resurrection!
