Will you do this by every single pirate from now on? Or any lawful forces who try to fine you for smuggling?
Congrats. Do this and many will dislike you.
Sure, many pirates want quite a lot money for Gold Ore etc. but this is normal? Try to get some money with less profitable routes first.
And it really isn't that hard to find a few people to make convoys with. Factions let FLs join there convoys from time to time too.

First, you need to learn how the pirates operate. New players are at an enormous disadvantage when it comes to metagaming, therefore read this article, Section "D. Successfully Countering Metagaming: How to do it?". This will at least give you an insight how it is always you who gets hit.

Because, to be honest: There are hardly any pirates around these days. There were times when it was normal to get pirated at least once per trip, my personal maximum was 5 times per ore run. But these days are long gone.

My 2nd advice would be: find a group to fly with. Don't play alone. Flying together is more fun, safer and generally less frustrating/grindy.

Also, changing your mentality towards piracy might help. Calculate 10 % of every run as "piracy fund", and assume you normally lose it. After a few runs without losses, it's okay if you lose your cargo/money again. Getting all sour and frustrated is not the way.

Also: make a pirate and experience the other side. Piracy is by no means easy, fun and profitable. Having both angles is invaluable and will make you a better player.

Jack is an experienced player in this - listen to his advice. Read his link - it's a well explained guide. This should help a lot.

Wow, being pirated more then once in a whole year is really sound like someone might be out to watch you playing to log and pirate Big Grin you know, many now just alt tab trading because amount of players and % of pirates among them is super low.

Give up of Dublin , that is prime place for pirating newbie miners/traders like you .
There is a LOOOT of trade rutes in this game , find alternative one that suits you .
I have a lot of trading experience , contact me on one of my ships for in-game help and tips ( check my profile for list of my ships ) .
Some of good trade rutes :
-Gold ore to Galia , il de France - Aluminum ore back to London ( Bretonia-Galia neutral ID required , like Kusari or Rheinland Corp ID ) ,
- ^ Also you may include Premium Scrap in this one for premium-gold-aluminum triangle trade rute ( aditional Junker and Liberty neutral ID required ) ,
-(event goods) Bysnis Delegates to Berlin-Political Refugies back to New York ( Rheinland-Liberty-junkers neutral ID required like OSC for example , also Liner class ship needed ),
-(smuggling)Premium scrap or Black market amno to Omicron Gamma-Attifacts back to New York ( Liberty-Corsairs neutral ID required , like Freelancer , junker od OSC ) ,
-(smuggling) Black market amno or Slaves to omicron Alpha-Cardamine back to New York ( Outcast-Liberty Neutral ID required , like freelancer or Junker ) ,
-(Smugling) Black market amno ( you can take Berlin or New York BMA ) to Auvergene or Provence in Galia -Nox back to Berlin (Bretonia-Galia-Liberty neutral ID required , like Kusari or Rheinland Corp ID ),
Or you can combine some of the rutes to , like Bring Black market amno from Liberty to Galia, return with Aluminium ore to London , or Bring premium scrap to galia , return with Nox to Berlin , then with Rheinbeer go to Liberty , etc.

huh... bad time, you say? that's pretty good experience to learn how to avoid pirates. just instantly check the player list and try to evade any contact in the system you have to visit, or utterly bypass it. pirates love to camp trade lines, so why you don't use jump holes indtead? time against money and mentality, it's up to you to decide

Well, maybe don't evade any, contact. For example obvious tags such as [RM], LNS- , BAF| USI Kruger- are not pirates.
