Well done, another step in ruining some great ship explosion animations from the original FL...
Instead of wasting time with this you could've done something more important to the mod.
I think death animations are pretty cool and shouldn't be removed. To fix the issue, just drop all guns when the death animation starts and problem would be solved

Yes. The most annoying thing in cap fights is when the ship starts to blow, everything is in fire and it still keeps shooting at you, what MAY lead sometimes to killing you if you finish with low hull.

Lies, the moment you start exploding in liberty battleship, cruiser or osiris you don't have much time to shoot till your guns fall off one by one. Also, this effect gives a bit of realism to this game and it was added with a purpose.
It takes 2 seconds mostly and your guns are down. There isn't that much time to let's say kill 2-3 more enemies flying around you. If you are with low hull and you are flying very near, it's your own fault not game's fault.
This is the most ridiculous whine ever seen by me in a freelancer forum during the years of playing this game.
Jesus....how much simple you want to make this game to be for you people?! You removed most of the FL features by now because they were kind of ruining your game, now these beautiful original FL explosions have disturbed you...God!
Instead of loosing the guns immediately, how about the capital ship`s weapon energy drops to zero, just like when entering cruise speed?
InRP it could be explained by overall power loss on the ship. With such energy drain, I think a cap player will think twice before exploiting the death animation bug.
Thus, let`s keep the current death animation, but make sure that cap players are punished when they try to get some seconds of invulnerability.
Isn't it possible to just make death instantaneous when the capship's hull reaches 0 and have (while the death screen has already popped up) the same visual effect?
I mean I'm all up for death animations dissapearing entirely, as they cause horrible lag spikes, but whatever

Other ones with the bug besides the scylla are the hessian battleship and murmillo. Not sure if there are any others, but if it's only 3 ships it's better to fix those three individually rather than all the caps.
