that really don't need a reply.

Most of the people getting sanctioned only come to the forums to find out why they were sanctioned.

Maybe them getting slapped down is good in that case, bringing more people to the forums. And that is the main problem... they never came here before, so they never read the rules. You're preaching to the choir right now.

That was the reason I made this post in the Rules section. From several months of noting how many times that the first response to the forum is their response to a sanction, it's quite obvious that most sanctions are happening to people that haven't - or won't - read the rules. (Or, having done so, decide that the rules really don't apply to them.)

It's been said before, I am sure it will be said again. The rules will not be posted in anything but English. This is an English server and you need to know English well enough to read the rules to be able to participate in the rp here.

They always know the choicest English curse words, however.
Not too long ago someone from Argentina was flying around the Colorado system complaining about how he didn't know English and that it was xenophobic to disallow other languages on the server. He didn't know English well enough to have to use it on the server...but he could spell xenophobic correctly.
The sympathy circuitry on my vessel short-circuited at that point.

Bah, there are FL servers up in most of the main languages. If you can't understand English well enough to RP correctly and read the rules of the server, then you'd better learn or choose somewhere else. Translating the documents will just encourage this, IMO.

i have started to translate the server rules in french.............8/10 of the job are do at this moment,ill post it soon,im sure thats will help:Pas you can see here ill do it for other IMPORTANT THREAD too:

Maybe instead of writing the entire rules list in different languages you could just write "English Speaking Server ONLY" in each of the languages, and save yourself weeks of translating.

The rules are subject to change and it never hurts to re-read them.

With regards to this, are you sure you will be able to keep the translations up to date with new rule changes? Really, just a notice about this being English only would be better.

Well, up to you, but should you need an English-Dutch/Dutch-English translator, just PM me.

At any rate, I personally like the idea of the rules in every language, even if you can't keep them entirely up to date. If it prevents a rule-breaking or two, why not;)
