I'd say that the concept of English being the primary universl language and any regional language a second language makes sense. Although I believe someone mentioned something about Spanish probably being big out in the Omicrons, which is likely true.

I agree the most with Darth Malak, another example of what he said would be that

And how much arabs live in sirius? Hmm maybe few was on board of Bretonia hundreds years ago but it wasnt population strong enough for survive. And with them died their language too;)

Well, besides this being an English server and thus, ruled and dictated by the necessity of speaking English...

My opinion is that everybody knows English so that all the Houses might interact with one another while they speak their own whatnot with each other... *cough* That's my weak explaination anyways.

The way I see it is:

bretonia - english
liberty - english
rheinland - german
kusari - japanese
corsairs + outcasts - spanish

Since English is the dominant and companies such as Interspace started as an insurance company in liberty and expanded as did companies such as the IMG, then English would have spread across Sirius and been used as the basic language.

Also, the game is in english so without the addition of subtitles then everything would have to be english, yet you have the obvious accents and names of ships and planets etc.

Crap..I didn't 'forget' the arabs per say, I was just in a bit of a rush when I wrote my thing earlier, though collectively aboard the sleeper ships I can imagine there were considerable amounts of Russians, Chinese and arabs as well.

coalition in sirius is based from radical commies recruited from all houses, we can call them neo-coalition or neo-comunists... original coalition agents from sleeperships havent havent enough ppl to create healthy and growing population.

= chinese, russian or arabic language died in sirius hundreds years ago with last original agent from sleepership or maybe few generations after him (he may had kids - from ethnological examples we can say bility to survive of language is 3-4 generations.).

Language of coalition in sirius is english.

I vote for Star Trek thing. Evry race have own language,but some sort of universal translator,translete all you say.

Every now and then, if you are dealing with one of my Klingon crews aboard either the Vor'tcha or the Gon'Shar, you will first see this message: chu' mughwI'. As they speak limited "Human" tongue, that is the Klingon phrase for "Activate translator." All I.K.S. ships are equipped with them.

Also: satellite states, such as Poland, and other USSR members, like the Ukraine and Mongolia.;)

And of the Arabs, the majority would be Egyptians. I can imagine Persians and Pakistanis too, as well as Arabs, I guess.

Their languages would be recreated, much in the same way that languages were recreated in Israel in recent years, but yeah, the Coalition's main language would be English, since we're led by a Bretonian.
