Considering the size of the ships in comparison, they ought to:P

Unfortunately, Freelancer's physics engine is a bit..wonky. Collision damage appears to be very random at times. A battleship could hit a cruiser and they both go boom. A battleship could hit a gunboat and they simply bounce off each other with minimal damage. Strange physics lie within Freelancer.

While those who do not read the forums won't see this thread, some who do read the forums will see it and hopefully may take notice of it.
Don't see why fighters/bombers stay close to stationary capital ships anyway, more often than not it's FAR safer to stay further away. The longer the projectiles take to reach you, the more time you have to dodge. That's always how I do things in my bombers?

Yes but when killing caps with razors ONLY the shots need to be very frequent, otherwise the shields do their job too well. So if I take my distance for safety, I can't fire frequently enough.

But if you won't dodge the battleship itself in the next 700-500m, you deserve to explode on colision:D

nobody have problem if fighter ramm you once, twice per fight... it is problem if you are in swarm of fighters, if everybody ram you twice.... but if it is not intentional just forget on it. It is price for your cap because FL wasnt coded for caps.

It's not always easy to avoid things while in the middle of a furball...you have <180 degree vision, and are gonna be pretty busy dodging such nasties as layzerz, missiles, torpedoes, mines and other random objects intent on your demise.

Several times have I accidentally bounced off of vessels, be they fighter or dessie, friendly or enemy.

The only thing I would say is that any bomber pilot bouncing of a capship that he's attacking is doing it wrong.

Meh, you bounce/spin a lot, suck it up, it's part and parcel of the capship flying experience:P

What fun is a bomber if you can't drop nuclear mines on top of the capship anyway?

Oh yes that truly is awesome. I tell you people, you should be aware that this way 4 VHFs could take a battleship:P
Really calculate it. Say 3 of them are razors, and 4th is CDer. So while the CDer dodges, those three razor the cap and each drops 2 nukes. And the naughty CDer activates those mines. So hull damage would total around:
120,000 per run. And one run would last a mere 10 seconds..

If the "captain" have bad aiming, you have a lot of luck and time (and mines) it can be done:PIt the worst scenario : 4 VHFs, 2 rams per one per run...:D

Well the "captain" can have as good of an aim as he wants, it aint gonna save him. Cause he can shoot on only one fighter at a time(they come at him from various sides), so that one fighter can only dodge while the others kill. Trust me this tactic has been the doom of many an outcast dessie:P
Plus imagine what could be done with 4 bombers instead of 4 VHFs. Oh IMG bomber, who will make you??;)
