If it were up to me I'd install some chain guns on them. Maybe even one or two missle turrets, but mostly chain guns. All class 10 of course.

Been here since Discovery 4.77 (lurk mode engaged)

This all sounds very good. The Gunboat anti-fighter weps sound tasty. :)

As for the torp thing, sounds interesting... but can someone (Igiss) go into detail about the weps replacing torps?

NPC wingmen have been asked for at least 3 other times in as many threads, igiss has said no because it would increase server load and possibly cause lag.

As for the magellan - NY jumpgate, several other new players have asked for it to be unlocked. Igiss has said no and will probably continue to say no because it'd open up a fast, easy and proftiable trade run.

Lets just discuss what he has listed here and leave the suggestions for the suggestion thread.

The chainguns on stations sounds pretty good to me, then again if players can't hit very often, will the stations be better at aiming?

yea the chain guns on station is better that having a refite 2.00 gun, its more realistic for taking out fighters

I think that if chain guns were installed on every station, it would be kind of unrealistic. What I mean by this is that the weapons that the stations in tau-37 have, would not be the same as what Liberty has. The type of weapons that are used now look realistic, so could we just boost those in power instead of totally chaning the chain guns (I don't know, just asking)?


For the ideas that Igiss put out there I like them all. Maybe a little more info on the torpedo replacements, but given that he might not have it yet it's not too important.


The clan systems would be great, but I have only one question regarding it:

What would new or fledgeling clans do?

You only get a faction system when you are a System Owning one. Meaning you have the restrictions that gives to you. And costs 300mil. New factions wouldn't have one immediately.

My guess is the new ones will come out in the next version release.

Don't forget Freeport 2 in Megellan, Ames Research Station in Kepler, Freeport 5 in Omega-41, Freeport 1 in Omega-3, as well as the base in Omega-49.

EDIT: That was an addendum to Marauder's list btw.

Freeport 2, Megellan; Freeport 1, Omega-3; Freeport 4, Bering; Freeport 6, Tau-29; Freeport 9, Omicron Theta; Freeport 10, Tau-37; Freeport 11, Omicron Delta; Ames Research Station, Kepler, Base in Omega-49. There is a list of the Zoner bases for whoever had needed it. Unless Korrd "cleans" this post as well. :P

a solution to capship weapons, could be to have battleship anti-capship turets, with slow progectile speed and a rediculously slow refire rate, say.. 0.2
mabey... just putting ideas in the melting pot ;)

i reckon battleship weapons should be increase in damage and speed so that they can actually live up to there name ........LISTEN to the Name "BATTLESHIPS" they are built for battle!!! and should be awesome .......i really hate it if you shoot heaps and run out of energy....and you get owned by a noob in a titan....who has stock energy and jades and diamondbacks,Battleship weapons should be strong enough to take out fighters in 2-6 hits.
