She slammed her first on the table. "Don't put words in my mouth. I never said the entire society was corrupt. I know there are good people in Libertonian society. They are being put under the heel of an oppressive government. Liberty should've lost the war, but dictatorships know exactly how to wage wars." It was clear the comment had touched a nerve.
He raised his hand ''Calm..down'' he said in a soothing tone. ''I did not say you said every person was corrupt, but I am asking how deep you think it goes. Who is corrupt, and how do you tell? Don't get angry'' He said, remaining calm.
"Don't. Tell me to calm down. The Naval high command, LSF, government and LPI command are the places you'll find the rot festering. These institutions must be brought down. And then reformed. They use the LSF as their hitmen."
''We are have a discussion, a civil discussion. I will not have you getting angry over a perceived slight, so keep calm.'' he said, at last opening his bottle ''LSF's job is to protect the house of liberty, is there anything wrong with killing a few ne'er do wells?''
"When they assault my brother warship, yes, there is. He's deployed as part of the Magellan gate vanguard, and an unknown LSF patrol assaulted the taskforce, deliberately targeting the Miasma. The vanguards fighters shoo'd them off but they were trying to kill my goddamned brother! He had done nothing!"
''That you know of'' Alexander said ''You are not in his life all the time, although I've never met your brother, so you'd have more of a clue than I. But even so, there are many possible explanations.''
"Oh please. That idiot is blindly loyal to Navy command. For whatever reason the LSF assaulted his ship. He said they used jammed transponders that marked them unknown, but using Liberty craft made it a bit easier to track them down. Him and my sister Nicole are idiotically blind to the corruption, it's sickening."
''As I said before. Maybe you're just jaded...which makes me wonder if something happened to you. As you said, corruption will always lurk in a society, Liberty is corrupt, of course. But burning transports, attacking military ships, terrorism...that's not going to solve the problem. Half the criminal groups in Liberty are just as corrupt as the government are, you want to fight the system, I get that. But killing isn't going to help you in the long run, it's just going to make people bitter.''
"Who do you think made me bitter? I don't enjoy being shot by LSF forces!" She finished her drink, setting the bottle aside. "So listen and listen good, Navy guy, your government and command are making the people of Liberty, the good ones, suffer, bitter, and despise it!"
''You don't think I'm aware of that!'' he said, rasing his voice ''You think that I wandered through Liberty blind? I've seen it, the corruption, but I choose to fight it in a different way! So you can sit there and pretend like everyone in the Navy is corrupt or blind and continue the same way the unioners have for the past century, or you can choose to change tactics'' He gave a sigh before continuing ''Your passion is good...I just wish you wern't so..stuck in your ways''
