Ah, i mentioned in the story that the Hive was temporarily out of the nomads area as was going to return, but then found the humans in the galaxy instead and saw they were a much easier target.

The Hive will not enter Nomad space, the closest it will get will be Alpha and Gamma (Alpha for small diplomacy, Gamma for NPC hunting for food for the Hive).

And how are those minor details related to what I stated above? Could you, please, elaborate? You are talking about minor details, not relevant to the subject I was referring to.

What would make you happy? And who should i ask for such "permission" for using a faction in a story, because i don't really think that you should have to ask to use an NPC faction in a story.

And also, maybe we can move away from the fact that i didn't ask permission to use an NPC faction in my story. Do i need to ask the Outcasts permission because i mentioned them aswell?

No, you do not, because you did not write an alternate storyline that was starkly in contrast to the RP already present on the server and the RP done by other people. You didn't really mention anything ridiculous about the Outcasts, so that's not a good comparison.

It is the very reason that the timeline is set in the past that you ought to have asked Treewyrm for permission to change something about the Nomad RP.

For instance, if someone were to RP as King Edward VII of Bretonia, they would need permission from the Bretonians, because the current monarch is not Edward VII, but Carina I.

If you think you can use factions like that then we have a problem there I'm afraid. Yes, you should at least inform them, at least talk to them, explain your idea and hear their opinion. But you want to push your idea through completely disregarding anyone else you put into it. That's a bad move. And it's not about me being happy, it's about everyone directly involved and mentioned agreeing upon it and getting along nicely. You are entirely missing the point of what I said above by trying to project it as if's merely me being unhappy about it, which isn't true. To make it very simple: you want Nomads be involved in your story, but do Nomads want to be involved in it in the manner you put them into? In this case the answer is no, the answer that is given by the representative faction. The representative faction works on the full background story for the Nomads currently and what you suggest here is about to throw everything out of window, to contradicting it. No Drats related to Nomads, no Hive character related to Nomads. Work it out on a different basis. And if I may give you a suggestion: try to avoid imports.

But thats the thing, i didn't change anything about the nomads, i just said they got into a fight or two, whats wrong with saying the nomads got into a fight, it happens everyday.

Now you are even contradicting yourself! A hundred years ago? You are altering their history in that way and screwing up the established one. You are changing them to suit your needs of your story. If you don't see that then I'm afraid the problem is even with a simple understanding of actions and consequences. And it's not a small fight you have there described mind you.

You are introducing a new specie into the universe, that's a major change, and you can't just talk about it as if it was a common clash with Order or Corsairs. Apples and oranges.

Perhaps instead of entirely new specie, which seems to be a beating dead horse topic around for roleplay, perhaps I might suggest trying using some experiment conducted during 800-801 A.S. as a basis for the character. Let's face it - imports are rarely if ever make good addition around. Sure, there is CR but how much time it took them to adapt into environment, yet still I see flak being thrown at them from time to time, mostly unjustified but that's another topic entirely. Back to the original subject: in other words using notable features you described in the story but seamlessly adapting them into Freelancer universe by using Freelancer history as a basis rather than altering it. I think that can work out.
