Not all of us have multiple accounts and game time to build a dozen chars for continuous play. As always just my opinion.

Primary function of this server is not only PvP combat. For that same realism you speak of, death has consequences.
You just got a smack, Jack.

All rhymes done by me are under copyright. I'd put a little tm there, but I don't feel like opening MS Word to do the index thing.

Contacting a fellow player who is playing a hostile role, organize a little skimish and balance the opposing forces is about respect and having fun.
This is a role play server if some of you don't like it just hop on a PvP server and destroy everything the whole day long.

I understand this isn't a pvp sever, the prob I have is noone wants to fight it seems. 4 times in a row I've had my bomber and one gb looking for an in rp fight and nobody bites. Fly an order bomber right into Rheinland and just get ignored. Bs pilots logging off instead of even responding. I know we don't want a pvp free for all or an action devoid rp only snoozefest but where's the balance?

Order is almost friendly with Rhineland, why would there be a fight?

I must be misinformed, I thought I read we were at war. I need to do more research I guess.

Maybe thats your problem, the Order shouldnt just be romping around Rhienland looking for a fight with a GB and a Bomber. Let me guess your doing it in a M26 and Pretorian? Come on man, get a clue. You dont like 30 sec fights? Joe and I yesterday faced off my tiger shark vs his lf, it took a half hour...that was a short fight. I think you are doing this wrong buddy.

I think a little more research is needed all round. Your posts seem to indicate you are just going looking
for a PvP fight, and little else ...

I read the first post of this, and found myself shaking my head slightly.

In reality it is far harder to gain money and resources to power a war machine, meaning the forces fighting would be far smaller than they are here.

A battleship for instance would cost a huge amount of cash, not a week's trading diamonds and niobium.

To represent that, people here excersize restraint when building forces. Hell. I know that in the LN all the members are capable of trading to the point where they could all fly a battleship...

Realistic? No.
Would it win a war? Yes.

We look at the game mechanics and go "well that doesn't make much sence if you apply a realistic veiw to it. So we play as if we can't afford all the kit in the universe.

Sure, there are roleplay arguments against arranging fights, but there are certainly good roleplay reasons for restricting forces to a reasonable level.

Major assualts dont happen all the time, so we tend to do small rubles with a few fighters on either side unless something huge is planned. The defence often has intel that there is an attack incoming (simulated by the opposing force telling them in this case), so that covers that one... You want realism? Then make it happen. Large attacks don't happen without any warning, logistics and espionage prevent that. So we simulate that here.

We want to have fun here. The roleplay may not be perfect but that is because the game we play isn't perfect. If you can't live with that then I doubt this is for you.

But somehow I doubt that your main concern here is infact the roleplay given that you were complaining about the four hour rule. If you were truly concerned about the roleplay then you would be deleting your ship each time it got blown up and thus never re-engaging or worrying about the four hour rule.

That isn't against the rules. They just can't use cruise to catch you if you are only using thrusters to get away.

After a death, that is one system you can't re-enter, and one individual/group whom you can't attack for 4 hours. If they come hunt you down and attack you, then you can fight them all over again in self defense.
You can operate in any other system within your ZOI, and mess with whomever you find there.
It's ironic that you argue for realism in battles and then cast it out the window when it comes to being destroyed after a fight.

And...uhh...taking a huge fleet into an empty system is your idea of fun, is it?... If you roll up with 10 or so people and there's one LF at home, I doubt you'll have a fun invasion shooting NPCs...
