BRIEF DESCRIPTION

While on repairs at Kamchatka Station, Omega-55, the facility was attacked by two vessels with "Unknown" tag. Further scanning revealed presence of infectees among the crew of the two gunboats assaulting the station. After requesting for reinforcements and awaiting for them to arrive, SCEC under the command of SCRA military personnel performed their duty on protection of Coalition's sovereign space. Combined forces managed to eliminate two hostile signatures, the others managed to flee.

It should be separately noted, that we manage to salvage infectees' carcases and adapted REDACTED weaponry for further study and hull remains of another minor REDACTED specimen. These acquisitions will surely speed up our research under "Tselina" project.

SCEC secretariat reports about "Baikal" project. First and second stages of plan has been complete [1],[2],[3].

During the second stage, Object-X252 crew successfully deployed "Plesetsk" installation site. Further, SCEC transport CPS-Pskov together with People's Coalition trade vessel CPS-Anapa performed massive delivery of building materials on "Plesetsk" construction site:

After delivery, SCEC engineers completed building and pressurize of "Plesetsk", and installed shield emitters. At this moment, SCEC escorts and militsiya ships was deployed on guard of "Baikal" project.

Unfortunately, one of SCEC in-rheinland agents has been uncovered by BDM, which caused losing of CPS-Pskov captain(KIA). Damaged vessel's hull has been towed by CPS-Anapa, crew hospitalized. Another smuggling operations has been completed successfully.

In next, SCEC planned further fortification of "Plesetsk". SCEC secretariat will request SCRA deploy of marines garrison on station and advice about orbital defense grid.

Now project "Baikal" needed following materials:

First studies of Sentient Machines of Omicrons

1. Introduction

Continuing to implement the Decree #825/2/11 of the Second Plenary Session of the HCSTA on Frontier Expansion[1], “Bystrina” Expedition[2] conducted observation of sentient machines present in Omegas and Omicrons.

2. Observations and results

First evidences were obtained during reconnaissance flight through Omicron Omega system[3]. The backdoor, exploited to gain access to Cryer’s comm-satellite on high orbit of Planet Lesbos attracted expedition’s attention by the optimality of the code. Tracking the direction of the transmissions performed by the embedded code, aspirant Shweik noticed corsairs’ fighter wreck, systems of which were used as a repeater. Further investigation of signal source led to the station, transmitting “Outpost Primus” identifier code.

2.1 Discovery of "Outpost Primus"

Installation “Outpost Primus” located in 7G quadrant of Omicron Omega system was defended by automatic drones, class of which can be compared with People’s Coalition VHF. Aspirant decided not to take risks or perform deep study of station by active methods. Visual observation showed poor condition of living modules. This, and high radiation in area prompted expedition to suppose that station was improper to sustain life of unmodified humans, and also was automatized.

Surveillance of radio band did not show any other transmissions except those directed to fighter's wreck, indicating that drones and installation probably have quantum-based communication channels.

2.2 Sentient fighter’s wreckage analysis

During another flight in Omicron Delta system[4], Kardashev’s crew obtained wreckage of sentient drone. Design of the vessel was the same as of the "Outpost Primus" defensive units. Hull segments have cellular structure; each cell is a sandwich of metal and polymer layer. According to qualitative analysis, metal layer consist of iridium-based alloy. X-ray crystallography showed that it has monocrystalline structure with F43m space group.

Polymer layer has complicated 3D topology of crystal properties; other large pieces have similar structure. The structure of the fragment can be matched with Coalition AK tachyon emitters. Probably, this is quantum computer core, built around tachyon’s entangled variables. Unfortunately, propulsion systems and reactor core were annihilated by plasma ejection.

2.3 Alliance-origin AI

In second observation flight “Bystrina” encountered gunboat with identify “Predator”, “Auxesia” IFF[5]. Vessel has uncommon design, based on Alliance technologies. General EDX analysis, performed by Kardashev’s ATR-24 observatory not found O and C concentrations ratios, characteristic for human organism nowhere aboard. Transmissions from vessel were in highly formalized style, despite this, the vessel was readiness for communication, and definitely sentient.

3. Conclusions

Expedition confirmed presence of non-human origin sentient machines in deep Omicrons. Materials analysis supposes they should have activity near iridium and REM sources. Their tachyon-based quantum technologies can be more effective than our photon-based qubits arrays. It is assumed that the compactness of this technology allows the creation of a network with a high processing power. Also, their attitude to the Coalition is still unknown. Further survey of Omicron Delta region should provide more data.

Moreover, usage of automatic capital ships by the “Auxesia” group was confirmed. This indicates the possibility of creating sentient machines at our technological level and alleviation of building Coalition People’s Economy.

Comrades!

In view of the recent unfortunate developments near Plesetsk research facility and due to our successes and expansion of our numbers, as the Chief Research Officer I do hereby proclaim the Directive #825-02-OD-1, commissioning project "Buran".

Our engineering facilities are to begin the construction of larger scientific modules for a "Tempest" class ship. The HCSTA High Commissar Alexey Novikov approved our aspiration to construct a big self-sustaining laboratory aboard of a carrier-class vessel with capabilities of having the following assets:

small eco-system research chambers
particle collider
remote tectonic manipulator
nuclear disintegrator
small assemble and construction modules
colonisation module
biohazard decontamination chambers
long-range communication module with quantum entanglement to Plesetsk and Mykolaiv
advanced medbay
hangar for snub-vessels and a MedEvac for rescue operations
experimental power core for soon to be commissioned project "Veil"
SCC-X1 supercomputer for advanced board AI.

SCEC is still in process of seeking request from SCRA regarding the provision of a "Tempest" class vessel to be re-fitted according to SCEC requirements.

As you know, CPRV "Kardashev" proved well up to now as a research vessel. However, the eminent threat from numerous foes of the People and Science as well as ever-increasing requirements for our research and project "Tselina" make a "Hurricane" battlecruiser less effective. Thus, I believe SCEC needs a fully-fledged flagship for "Bystrina" expedition with the support of smaller vessels in hangar for expeditions to even more dangerous and remote corners of space. Bigger number of crew, more powerful reactor and more advanced scientific modules will allow us to accelerate the pace of our initiative and eventually further the goals of the Coalition.

In the view of aforementioned, the order is to increase the production capabilities at Plesetsk to maximum and start the development of the modules in question. The details and schematics will be sent to the Chief Engineer and distributed among the respective divisions thereafter. All the progress on the project shall be reported directly to me at the earliest convenience.

Together, comrades, we shall succeed and prove the technological superiority of People's Science!

Combat Report - Rheinlanders in Omega 55

Commander Grachov, reporting after the first day of being on duty in the Reconnaisance and Escort cell. Yesterday, at 26.02.825 A.S, the defense forces of Plesetsk have encountered the two waves of numerous Rheinlander forces. Both attack waves were repelled without any witnesses left behind. Some rheinlanders are suspected for being infected, the evidence is attached in the report.
