I really would like input from you guys if this build makes sence. What i plan is to install the OS on the 970evo SSD along with antivirus software, and my MOST used softwares. On the 2.5inch Crucial SSD i would install games and random softwares. While on the HDD i will use it store my documents, music, videos, downloads etc.
I think this is a very decent system but in my opinion less for 1 component. The OS, I think Win 10 is rubbish and I feel that the best OS especially for Disco is Win 7 Pro 64 bit.
I run this OS on all my systems and everything is effortless.
Im sure that many out there will disagree with me.

I do have a copy of windows 7 Pro but the thing is using it after 2020 will be like playing russian roulette in using my internet with an OS that is not being constantly updated from time to time.
I understand that windows 10 has a bad reputation, but after 2020.... i really do not want to go thru that hastle and might as well just knock it off while i still can.
And I agree, windows 7 is very great OS out there.
After 2020 Windows will change again and Microsoft Freelancer is doomed to operate after Win 10 due to the way future versions haandle and deal with the internet. Remember that Microsoft is dedicated to an OS where all programs and apps are run from within windows over the internet.
Perhaps we should be looking for ways to ensure that FL runs in the future based upon older windows OS.
There has been much discussion about how FL and Disco will work on future versions of Windows which is one reason why I have dumped Windows in favour of open source. I keep one old machine just for FL/Disco running on windows 7.
I hope Freelancer/Disco does survive and it is only this forum members and admin that may make that possible.
at this point, the thing I'm curious about is your cooling solution.
Heatsinks, fans, etc? Have you considered those? they really do make a large difference.
I'm actually using an 8700K, but lost the silicon lottery so overclocking only gets me to about 4.5gz. That is, for most games, completely unnecessary, as bombstrap has said, but we believe in some future proofing.
The part of that build that is going to bottlneck you the soonest is the GPU, at only the 3gb version of the 1060, you'll probably want to consider upgrading that first, in a year or too. Still, so long as you cool those components adequately, you'll have plenty of headroom for most games.
Aye, cooling is important and fans are pretty cheap nowdays, so go wild.
Also, make sure your PSU is adequate, many people don't pay much attention to that, but it's crucial to the system's overall stability.

As Implosion said, PSU is very important. I am using EVGA 500 W1, 80+ WHITE 500W and it's a cheap beast tbh. When you're looking for PSU's make sure they're at least 80+ efficiency.
