The real weapon of the nomads is their ability to mess with people's minds, consciousnesses, and motivations, not their guns. Physiologically they were considered 'weaker' compared to human technology within the campaign in terms of their functional warfighting ability compared to the great mass of house humanity, even if they can create absolutely massive constructs and erzatz biological devices.

Telepathy is a weapon, too. I wouldn't take away the line, but encourage nomads to try to play with human brains a bit more than simply using their telepathic elements as a /1 /2 surrogate. A requirement for a demand, be it to leave, or to ship cardamine, turn over the artifacts, etc, would be better than just 'shoot'. The Nomads have nuance too.

*looks at CR ID*

Yeah sure, no other ID is able to engage transports without a demand.

I thought this was Flood for a second, but you're actually serious. Doesn't even merit discussion.

I too like easy blue messages against defenseless targets.

I don't see why can't nomad players demand that the traders/miners drop their cargo and leave the area?

They can, doesn't mean they should. It's silly, and would only neuter the image of a big bad scary aliens even further. It's been years since I thought of nomads as an actual threat, and for once I don't think this is going in the right direction.

You can be big bad scary aliens without harming gameplay. This is 'scaring' people to the point where they don't want to play - which is what's happening right now, there's no mining. As someone who played Wild, you don't create fear by just dropping instant-yeet engagements on defenceless transports (that's just lame). You construct a narrative that shocks and entices players, like infesting a player in view of another. /l1 and /l1 on transports is bottom of the barrel. It's no different to LNS-BlackScorpion.

Bunch of IDs can treat certain transports as combat targets.

36 cases of such line exist in IDs.

These all have very specific restrictions in their usage vs the ones I'm complaining about which cover everything in a huge range.

Well of course you would say that. Nomad vs Human grief is broad one but at the same time absolutely understandable. Why would Nomads demand something from transports when their majority of existence is about wiping humans from their corner of universe? Wilde/Aoi might do that, but not Nomads.
