it's avg 8.5. for some reason it won't let the program connect to the server. No idea how to fix it tbh and the avg website is about as much use as a chocolate teapot.

whatever you do don't upgrade to 8.5!!!
AVG doesn't work with Freelancer any more. Uninstall it (don't just disable it)
Avira seems to work okay.
