Someone here woefully misunderstands how corporate financing works.

Shooting the people that you sell stuff to sounds like a solid idea. Even though IC is not Liberty Government, they are heavily involved in it. They can be swayed. The threat with the loss of power would harm them both, they wouldn't like losing money.

A properly lead Core would never do something as stupid as commit acts of war against big daddy Liberty. However, with the disbandment of the "board" (OF), the Core could be construed as currently being a headless chicken with little unified direction. A number of internal groups may be vying with each other to fill the power vacuum left behind, leading to all kinds of disorganized nonsense and ill-informed decisions.

As far as I'm concerned, occurrences like these should not be entirely ignored by canon. Something interesting could be made of this.

Mostly result of the "lawfuls cannot enforce RP consequences outside of the House space", but it can lead into some interesting conflicts and development if handled properly.

Maybe a good excuse to spark some Omicrons-wide conflict to reduce pixel powers in Omicrons and make it more untamed again.

Liberty is corrupt and heavily influenced by corporations. In reality there would be no conflict, especially when IC has direct stake in Core profits. Liberty would not send battleships, go to far reaches to Nu and enforce law as they did from Day1 and then shoot Core - no. There would be some tensions between blind and dumb jarheads on the snubs and exploratory ships that are the only ships that would meet in canon, the Government would step in, contact Core and they'd make a deal and negotiate rights + split profits. Liberty players however played it with Zero Nuance. Lib Gov ignored Core when they tried to negotiate (the OF).

Now Core players that aren't afraid of losing pixels actually respond in kind. Also this will be a strong precedent for Admins - like I said, in canon Nu is not house space, this is a clear example of a system where long reaching RP consequences should not happen if the justifications of Markam and others for the new system are to stand - as there are no capital ships in the open from either side. But I called the new system extremely vague and confusing before, there is no way of telling what will actually happen or who can do what.

This conflict isn't about roleplay, y'all need to stop pretending this is supposed to have some big consequences when it's just conn 2.0

As Chron said previously it's just players looking to fight for dumb reasons instead of focusing on their specific area (but that's kinda already impossible as they ganked every nomad and order indie off the server with their playstyle)

Every single interaction with the core indies was just back and forth arguing about "he he me faction better, don't insult Core)))" until Outcasts show up as Core has defend ally line. That's literally all the """roleplay""" that has happened.

Well LSF and Navy have done the same from day1

People enjoy the fights, plain and simple Smile There would be no large scale fights in canon, only arguments and small skirmishes between Jarhead small ships that scarcely meet in canon between Corp corrupted government would step in to negotiate with Core. Core should have some presence in the system from systems perspective, players can do what they want, doesn't mean it will make it into canon.

Also everyone has defend allies line in Zoi FYI.

Yes probably because the system is part of Liberty according to their laws? Core would do the same if suddenly 3 Overlords and 2 LABCs show up in front of Durban and start claiming Rho as Liberty space.

You have to understand that claim EDIT: WAS same as Core claims in actual canon - a bombastic one that actually has no substance behind it, yet. Liberty has by no means firm grasp over the system, it is not a Liberty system either - they just claimed it with expansionary doctrine, well the player driven government did :]

In reality they'd work with Core from day1, IC would make them.

Liberty has one Surveyor liner there and a non-combat designed living quarters patrol heavy carrier like BC.

The Nu stuff has been very lolwutty and low quality in terms of RP. It's the same nonsense over and over. No actual conflict, no intrigue, no backdoor plays, no foundation, no ideology, no investment, nothing to evolve or develop.

"me x faction me strong me own all me throw caps onto you dai now /1 /2 /3 ".

Nothing interest to provoke, beyond shooting people. Would be nice if more appropriate factions got the relevant attention. Like Insurgency, clashing with the Xeno ... er, Free Republic.

People will get tired of this, because it will be meaningless to do the same for all eternity. And I think it's fair to say that one group cannot represent all of faction players interests. Everyone has their own biases.
