Liberty Rogues, that sounds good, especially since my character (LH~Dervin) is geared in that direction already; I'd just need to earn a mil or two for a name change. I'd be more than happy to do that if it's worth it, and it sounds like it is. That sounds like plan A.

Ha, Jacob, I realized that Rheinland wasn't the best area to begin when I first arrived in my Starflier (part of my storyline that I have not yet committed to text). I was almost blown up at every single lane exchange, and many times in between. Eventually, I did get blown up in Stuggart, but I integrated that into my story and picked up a new Rheinland ship (Valkyrie, but I hate the way it pilots, I last longer in my Dagger than that hulk). I had planned on moving the way of Red Hessians, but I already contacted one of their higher members and was told that I may be best served taking another course, considering what I'm looking for.

NerdRage, if I do go to Rheinland, I will strongly consider the military. As I mentioned before, I had planned on joining the Red Hessians (Hessian Tears) because of a hatred of Corsairs (they blew up my Starflier!). BUT! The fact that Liberty is crowded may serve my purposes better. Unfortunately, it seems to be full of non RPing players. I'll have to think about it. I'll keep that line open though. It sounds like fun, and I could easily tie the military into my storyline.

I would prefer to see a few more replies before I make up my mind. I am extremely happy that this thread is getting attention. This is exactly what I wanted. Now, if only I could find this cooperation in the game.

I think that at this point in time, I'm leaning towards the Rogues. I'm going to go head over to their threads and read up on em'. Keep up the excellent posts guys, the feedback is excellent. Especially -XO-, that's exactly what I'm looking for. As far as the missions go, I will take the initiative, I just need some people to fly with me. That said, I have no idea as to my ability as a pilot, would the Rogues be able to help me train? I may be decent, I may not. I've never done PvP on this server. Perhaps that another question: I can only fly up to level 20 missions with my LH outfitted Dagger out of Mactan, is that poor? Should I be able to do any level? I'm just curious. It feels like my Dagger has the potential to be great (I love the way if flies), but my guns just don't make a big enough dent.

PS, No worries if you didn't read my post Malaclypse 666, I doubt you're alone; I'm a bit long winded.

PPS, Pirating is just another aspect of RP. I could even RP an excellent lawful character. I just want to go where the most cooperation and RP are, which sounds like the Rogues.

If you want a lawful, the Rheinland Military can be both the best and perhaps the worst, finding things to do is tough to do on the lawful side, especially in Rheinland, whereas on the Unlawful side of things, you don't have to really wait for opportunities to pass you by, you can create them. If you wish to play a lawful I'd recommend Kusari, or Liberty, the Police of the latter is good, and I personally love Kusari's Naval Forces. Its all up to you though, go discover, find what suits your fancy.

From personal experiance, there seems to always be somehting going down in rheinland, it's got embargo breakers and has a major smuggling route running through it, we got Wilde, librety invaders, Corsairs and Outcasts and haz SHF's [/RFP Advertising]

the Unioners and LWB, or RHA would have heaps of stuff to do, since thyre either fighting the BHG or the sair's and with the temporary major route between bretonia and Rhinland there would be a nice amount of traders passing through

so Mr.S, i'd have to disagree with your contention that Rheinland is boring, since librety is so populated with lawfull and unlawfull forces, i't would be hard to find a job, but i don't know, since i dont often visit librety.


Howabout Rye join a Gallic faction? like les vampirs? it's full of nifty ships and open RP, lawfull or not

Erm, I'm trying to research the Rogues, but the rules link in the recruitment page leads to the Outcast Guard. I've noticed that a lot of links have that problem, did something change about the forum since the post? In any case, I want to read more about the Rogues, like, what ships are allowed (I like agile fighters), which i imagine would be contained in the "rules."

Gallic faction eh? I don't think I've even explored that part of space. I think it'd be best if I stayed in the general vicinity of Rheinland or Liberty space. Perhaps something nearby. I DO see quite a few les vampirs though, which is appealing. I suppose I'll read about them while I wait to read about the Rogues.

We'd love to have you in the Black Dragon Society (Hogosha). There is really complicated and deep RP in Kusari and it's a lot of fun. We're currently in a war with Bretonia so there is always plenty of action to be had, and our RP is fascinating, exciting, and there is always something new going on.

Have you tried Kusari roleplay yet? Once you learn the lingo (Konnichiwa, Domo Arigato etc) and talk to a few people you will learn just how deep and involved it is.

First, you have the traditionalist Kusari government, with the head being Emperor Jien Kogen (Kusari.Imperial.Yacht). He has the the Kusari State Police (KSP) enforcing the Kusari Legal Codex and the Kusari Naval Forces (KNF) at his disposal to fight his war on the Bretonia Front. Sometimes, the Bretonia Privateers (QCP) bring the war to Kusari, and the KNF emergency comms go wild as the KNF rises to sqash the pirate incursions. Sometimes they enlist the help of the Anti-gaijin (foreigners), the Hogosha ( official faction is [|] the Black Dragon Society). Then there's the Farmer's Alliance (AFA), whose main goal is the preservation of traditional farming methods and the purging of the synth foods market in Kusari. All of the above are mortal enemies of the Blood Dragons (NovaPG, Sentai) who wish to overturn the Emperor and restore the Shogunate.

There are two large Kusari corporations, Samura (Samura|) and Kishiro (Kishiro|). Samura's got a stranglehold on the Kusari government by buying their politicians. Kishiro has an edge in technology and much influence in Honshu. Kishiro works closely with the fiercely independent Gas Miners Guild (GMG|), and has exclusive rights to transporting their HFuel as well as building their miners and ships. The GMG are decedents of Honshu fishermen with strong culture, economic, and security ties to Kusari. Samura tries to impede the GMG/Kishiro development of Okinawa (the loan to develop provided by none other than Interspace) by having the Hogosha sabotage the miners, terraforming, and Jumpgate projects, and GMG tries to impede Samura development of Hokkaido (eliminate the competition!) by secretly training the Blood Dragons in nebula combat so they can run in circles around the KNF and Samura in Hokkaido. The best part is, there's nothing but smiles and gestures of respect on the surface.

Oh and who could forget the Golden Chrysanthemums (GC, Kiretsu), who have a secret agreement with Interspace Commerce, and just love cardamine and other GC girls >_>

And the Consortium. Well, them! ... You'll have to see them to understand.

And Renzu, the ship designers. Beware their salesmen, they might just try to sell you a WASAPUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU.

Recently, there have been unprecedented tensions in Roleplay (not just diplomatic) between the GMG and Kusari over Okinawa - and a few of us are working on drafting a treaty to sort that out.

The LR are active enough, the rp is variable and solid, people are nice and we got Ashes. What else would you want?


As a rogue you can do all sorts or rp types from a person who simply struggles to survive to a blood thirsty terrorist allmost. Since the npc faction is at best loose organisation of homeless people and criminals it provides enough chances of all kinds.

The factions we meet are good as well, the LN, LSF, LPI, XA, occasional BHG, and a flopton of indies. It all boils down which part you wish to take as we have such an elastic rp setting you simply do not get bored.

Kusari sound pretty damn amazing, I have to say. But I can't say that I hate the idea of Rogues, especially since I'm very comfortable with their ZOI and some of the ships that they fly. I'll do a quick read of your space and see what I think. I'm reading up on the Black Dragons right now.

Right now, it's between going Kusari, or Rogue. Both sound like the opportunities that I'm looking for. Right now, I already have a character that would integrate perfectly into the Rogues, and keep his back story consistent. This would allow me to better learn the game and it's nuances. But then again, I love the idea of playing Kusari. I've read quite a bit about Japanese culture, and while I was reading about them on the wiki, I couldn't help but build a character in my head.

About the Rogues though, my character has a LH~ tag, am I going to have to earn 2 mil to fix that, or is there another way? I think I'm going to head into space now and grab my LH character and start earning some money. I should be able to raise that much by tomorrow. Once I learn a bit more about the game, I'm certainly going to create a Kusari character though. I think that my time learning would best be spent with the Rogues.

Well, If you attend veteran rank, you can use BW shipline as well. Say a Sabre, or, if you can RP it up with the Hellfire, a bayonet or a Broadsword. Factions are linked, in RP and out of it, to make NY and the rest of liberty a safer RP ground.
