Seal clubbing- When a highly skilled player deliberately competes with new/unskilled players. Usually in PVP.
Shield running- When a player runs away mid-fight to recharge their shields, and reengages when shields are recovered.
Dry- When a ship is out of regens.
Full dodge- When a player is being chased by multiple opponents, the player is forced stop shooting and constantly dodge to stay alive.

Gunsos- Fight with guns only. No missles, mines, or regens.
Full- Fight with everything you have. Guns, missles, mines, and regens.

To this day. I'm still not completely sure what these mean:

1IC- First in charge?
2IC- Second in charge?
HC- High command?

EDIT: If I'm incorrect, feel free to correct me.

loldocking: docking during a hostile player encounter to escape death. Applies to traders too but is not as looked down upon or used with a deragatory tone when doing so on a trade ship.

Turret Steering - controlling your ship in turret view
(I remember the term really confused me as a newbie)

Guard Systems - Systems entirely controlled by a single faction, usually characterized with easily guarded entrances and exits, a complete lack enemy NPCs or bases, and one or more incredibly strong/important bases for the faction that controls the system. A relic term from a time when factions could just buy systems.

Guard Factions - Copies of factions with hostile reputation to all other factions save very explicit allies, used to lock down Guard Systems. A relic term from the same era as Guard Systems, seeing increased use due to Alaska Security Forces and Detachment 16.

POB - Player Owned Base.

POBoid / BoP - Base Owned Player, derogatory, Slang for base owners who do not interact with other players, or provide minimal roleplay in order to exclusively focus on their Player Owned Base.

Perma/Permaban - Permanent Server Ban.

ERP - lit. "Erotic Roleplay", but often used as a short hand for long roleplay encounters, especially non-aggressive ones.

T# - Tau system shorthand.

{Greek Letter} - Omicron system shorthand.

This can also be truncated to HIGHCOM.

Caedus Wrote:Harris Syndrome - In-RP term used to describe players that speak in ooRP terms while roleplaying, or reference things outside of the narrative.

People oorp Who do this, and are otherwise poorly informed, are often called lolwuts, stemming from a common, yet archaic combination of the words lol and wut, implying a constant state of confusion or delusion.

It was a response to roleplay attempts. You'd say something in character and they'd respond with "lol wut" and then probably shoot you
