Vanesca Catallia Location: '\S/'DCV-Argentum - Tau-23 Subject: Suit - First steps, first prototype - dev log The samples arrived just as the internal laboratories finished and the machines among the testing grounds were set up. One of the unused decks now filled with rows and rows of metal boxes, so heavy that one cannot move them without using assisting tools, shells to intervene with any signals that those samples may be able to send. Workers and personnel is told not to walk those hallways and they were closed off for now, the silence had to be locked for safety reasons. The first drafts of the suit idea is currently being used as a blueprint, scouring for the right composition to get the shell and fabric right. A task not that difficult compared to finding a method to create a small scale power-core to supply the light-suit. Those working on it were aware how much it needs to generate on average with the set of tools and life-support roughly sketched out. It needed to be rechargeable, low-maintenance and not too heavy, at it's worst backpack sized for the start. The team hod a bold idea, why not use a powerplant, scale it down from the size of a regular vehicle and adjust the fuel section for the beginning to have something that can be used at the start. For now the team will work on those, overseen and assisted by those who started this whole idea. Signing off~

Vitals shielded by chained nanofibres encasing ceramic-like plates for the ease of replacement. Among this achievement another one was made, namely using an SM-e2 as reference for a downscaled shield for the suit, to shield from impact and other kinetic influences and lower levels of radiation. With those two things prepared the team now know how much power they needed on low to high work load and the attempts on making a powercell for the suit began. Signing off~

Vanesca Catallia Location: '\S/'Argentum - T23-Subspace Subject: Among the Line We've finished all suit related prototype projects. A light and heavy version powered by a cluster of our own invention using the crystals we harvested in Tau-23. "Radiation Wave Cube" - A building block of the power source for the suit and in the future other things as well. Using a thin structure of Tungsten in the shape of a cube the size of a regular dice scaled up by two and layered with the crystals found to have a decent absorption and containment for what is put inside - a compressed gas harvested inside the Uncharted, volume reduced till it turns to a nearly evaporating liquid. We do not have a proper name for most of the building blocks at the moment. The principle is as follows; The liquid gas when being influenced by energy starts to shape the crystals minimally to create a current, the charge is send towards the tungsten cage and with cubes layered and connected it results in a sort of powerbank style permanent discharge. The heat is dispersed by a compressor that also eats the excess power when nothing is used from the cube cluster. Star radiation, light, electro magnetic waves, light, ionised radiation and other sources are able to bring the cluster to life with ease but due to the constant power generation the compressor has a force discharge mode to not explode violently. "Starfliers F-Suit" - The Light version of the two and the easiest to use. A multilayer nanofiber attire paired with a non conductive metal alloy plating for the wearers vitals and limbs. It's powered by a small Radiation Wave Cube cluster inside the breastplate's left and right side. Internal wiring sends needed power towards life-upkeep and oxygen supply. The suit has a multitude of so called docking points for tools and addition, it is able to power many handheld tools, other equipment and backpacks. The suit re-uses exhaled "exhausted" air that has stepped over the threshold for being breathable to allow the wearer to propel themselves forward in low-gravity, if not used it will be expelled in regular intervals. The standard version of the F-suit features the main exhaust points at limb end points and joints, with controlled micro bursts this results in swifter movement and better control. The cluster also powers a in-build small shield generator that protects against impacts from incoming particles and low to average radiation. The wearer is able to service their ship from the outside with this F-suit as long as they are not in high radiation environment or a system with too much space dust or a too thick nebula. The corresponding helmet and visor includes a simplistic UI to warn the wearer of any malfunction or if tools and equipment is connected correctly, a short range communicator is installed as well. "Starfliers C-Suit" - The Heavy version of the two, to wear it the user first needs to wear the light version and then get into the heavy suit. The suit is over 2 meters tall an fairly bulky, using a heavy modified LF-shield, ablative armor parts and two extra power generators to be able to move, it's meant for extreme environments and very heavy lifting. In-build robotics assist in moving, carrying though it is lacking in proficiency for filigree work if the wearer isn't used to it. With the F-Suit inside and the C-Suit on the outside the total of 3 RWC-Clusters is able to power all it's functions while still having excess energy for tools and other means. Better life support, shielding nearly as powerful as a Light Fighter to even withstand higher energy environments for longer time without putting the wearer's life in danger. The C-Suit is able to work itself through plating of other objects due to it's own armor and power, fit for exploring wrecks of ships and stations alike. Both suit types have one special docking point for a wire connection to either a ship or station terminal, outside of this specific docking point this type of equipment is inherently unable to communicate with other machines as it lacks the needed receptors and sending parts. This is part of it's design to make external shut-down not an option, the designer is aware of this fatal flaw in case of a suit malfunctioning but the flaw out-weights the danger of an unauthorised shutdown from outside. ► Only a limited amount of these suits can be made at a time. Vanesca Catallia Location: '\S/'Argentum - T23-Subspace Subject: EC The non-human visitor was picked up and given access to the ship. Picked up in a remote place in Tau-23, Novak was lead from the docking bay towards the lower half of the Argentum. He was able to see that the ship was mainly a manufacturing place for specialised equipment. The ship being mainly controlled via manual terminal inputs made it look like an outdated piece fit for a museum but it was also clear that this was made to be like this on purpose, maybe due to someone in charge having too much of a paranoia or just someone wanting to be safe, both applies in parts. Going past the laboratories and testing range entering the lower decks, Vanesca using one of the F-Suits before leading the AI guest further into a sealed off place inside an artificial testing room for environmental hazards, a big room, high ceiling and full of variations of debris, both energetic and non-energetic alike. The "dormant" personality cores were put in another room that was basically empty, the only light in that room coming from a single terminal screen as the power for that section was otherwise shut down. Guest Novak could see and examine with ease, nothing was done to further harm those cores and Vanesca explained what she and her crew did outside of putting those there. No speck of dust in that room, no dirt, just the quiet hum of the cores and distant machines. The main purpose was to study how the pieces of a core interact with each other, this could be found out via scanners, ultra-sonic measurements and similar methods of non penetrative nature. The humans lacked the proper tools to take those cores apart properly, meaning doing so with unsuited means would damage what they want to understand in parts and that wasn't an option. The goal was to get enough data for those more efficient components to create their own parts. The suits would benefit from such, scanner technology as well. A few microchips were presented, fruits of learning, showing a non-optimal but functional piece that uses a structure after a mixed image of human and AI-style wiring. It was a baby-step and surely not the end. The reason for doing this kind of research was not to make a copy of the AI, it was to advance what Vanesca had to work with. How does AI process and store information? How can this be understood and then used for the Starfliers for even better results? Answers were the goal and the personality cores among the guest a mean to reach it. It was now up to Novak's temper to let the crew continue the study in a non harming way to the cores, unless he wasn't having it. ► From this point on EC entitiy "Novak" has writing access to this thread.
