Someone might want to adjust the OP to note that (like with shipyards) a POB must be Core 3 to build the new Weapons Component Factory, which can't be be upgraded to with holiday mode on.

Starting with this patch (after the holiday mode ends), bases would now consume Food (still variable, no changes) and Consumer Goods. Sellpoints and prices have been rebalanced as a result. This also reduces the total volume needed for the crew upkeep by 33%."
So ... this means that no more water and oxigen are needed? if not why you guys fixed the oxigen and water sellers? anyway ... the consumption rates are the same?
can someone please updade the guide? yes my brain is dumb lazy .
Numbers are unchanged, just instead of Water/Oxygen, bases just consume Consumer goods. Let's say instead of 100 Water, 100 Food, 100 Oxygen - you stock the base with 100 Food and 100 Consumer Goods.

Is there a transition period where both exisiting Food, Oxygen, Water and the new requirements Food and Consumer Goods will be accepted by the PoB or are base administrators best advised to remove or delete both Oxygen and Water from the base prior to 'PoB Holiday Mode' coming to an end?
(I am assuming it is the latter, but some bases have tens of thousands of commodities so clarity on this point is helpful).

Thanks for any information you can provide.
The change is already live. Holiday mode temporarily pauses base upkeep, which also serves as this grace period for base owners to readjust and stock their bases.
Feel free to remove Oxygen (completely) and Water (if you're not using Hydroponics to produce Food).
So far what i can say about this patch is ... i don't like it. My hydroponics was what paid the base, and also get some profit, and now it will not be enough. I used to produce food and sell it, and have enough to pay all at medium prices and now don't, not only there is a change of product that is cheaper to sell than before, but also the production is now half! So the only way to pay the base is to do way longer routes to get more cheaper materials! The only thing that could save it is the new module of production, but that depends what are the recipes and prices ... waiting for someone to update the guide with these new information!
So for now what i can say is that i was a good boy, and instead Santa giving me a gift ... Krampus ruined Christmas! Not smiling at all!
Anyway take care all and have fun, and Merry Christmas to all, even to those who not celebrate it
Quick edit: found a bug, and not want to spend time making a report ... the Outcast encounter on Tau29, this has the information that still is on Tau23
