Will this downtime affect the character inactivity wipe?

I hadn't been on some of my character's for a while before the attack,
and I can't remember how long it's been. Please assure me that the
clock has been set to zero, or at least paused.

I would believe if the server is offline it wouldn't delete the characters. However I'm not an admin nor a server host so I'm not actually sure.

If our server uses the IFSO auto-delete tool, it should be fairly simple to increment how many days a character needs to have been inactive to take this bump into account. 40-odd days (depending on how long the server is down) after the server is restored, this could be manually set back a day at a time until it returned to normal, with no change in rate of deletion or inactivity time- just a little bump where the auto-delete pretends no time passed, effectively.

Of course, it's even easier to swing it a few days in favor of the players, and requires less work. Don't worry about it.

EDIT: Also, I believe it has been said that the database is fine, and it is regularly backed up anyway. Even if I'm wrong and the database was successfully attacked (a lot less likely than a "simple" DoS attack), we shouldn't lose more than a week's worth of change.

Second, I would like to mention that the LN and RM MegaFight would be of starfleas.

Third, this loosing chars would destroy Disco IMO. I myself dont have the patience to work for another 1.5 billion creds to get where I was.

Forth, I know this is a far fetched question, back-up files?

Fifth and final, how do you prevent a DoS or DDoS?
