I think i will take some peoples advice and explore some other factions a bit more.

I am also going to sell my Light Carrier so i can play more on my Order| character.

Check out the Sirius stock exchange if interested.

The reason for the rule is to prevent re-engaging. In role-play, you kill someone, they're dead, or at least, have to find a way back home to get a new ship. It gets annoying to blow the same person out of the water every 5 minutes. If you want to do that, we have Connecticut.

It also prevents revenge kills (still re-engaging) If player A is killed in a trader by player B in a fighter. Player A switches characters to his missile spamming carrier and kills player B out of revenge. As you can see, it's thoroughly annoying and quite unfair.

The 5.7 rule is used to thwart this kind of metagaming.

I understand your poing about metagaming, but why not have a rule where you are just not allowed to re-engage (which we have already)

So even if you can re-enter the system after they have left, you arnt allowed to follow them and engage them again anyway even if you are not in the system you got killed in.

I mostly don't continue playing the char I get killed on, cause I have others to turn to.
But anyways, people won't want to report you for it anyways. Rules are not to be followed blindly, without any form of common sense whatsoever.
They're there to prevent abuse, and if you don't "harm" anyone, you'll likely not get reported.
I haven't actually thought about the rules whenever I did something, not because I don't respect them or because I just love reengaging people who just killed me, but because I do it simply if it makes sense.
I'll never fight the guy who killed me, however, and most likely will never end up in the same place or system as him.

In conclusion, anyways, why be so afraid?
Just follow what makes sense in role play and don't harm anyone's time here, and that's about it. Quit obsessing, people. Play the effin' game.

That is a beautiful idea. Perhaps you will discover the beauty of lighter craft, as the Hunters have. From our unofficial book of tips and tricks:
1. Bombers.
2. Bombers. Bombers, bombers, bombers.
3. Skill.
4. Co-ordination.
5. Bombers
6. Strategy.
7. Bombers.
8. One or two skilled fighters to support the bombers.
9. Bombers. Bombers, bombers, bombers.

For the Core.

O my God,if only I hear that sentence from all the "no RP sense for caps, carrier spawners" in Minor.
That would be really great.

The revised rule also gives incentive for players to flee. If you manage to flee successfully, you have the ability to return to the system (when the opponents leave/die). If you are struck down however, you cannot return for four hours.

Also i was 10M from isis at the time, if i had been like 1 second quicker I would have docked and 'fled'.

Alas no-body has bid on the carrier yet.

What do you think folks, should that rule be modified a bit? Make a different cooldown time, according to a ship one flies? Less for fighters (30 minutes), more for bombers (1 hour?) 2-3-4 hours for capital ships? After all, it's awfully easy to get blown to smithereens in a fighter, so, in effect, the rule seems to stimulate people to buy bigger ships, even for a few minutes more of playing.
Also, in Role play, it's much easier to replace a fighter than it is a battleship.

Sorry for not making a topic, but I'd say it's at least partially related.
