Which is a result of our nature. Men were meant to provide protection, shelter, etc. Women are to provide heirs and sex. So our nature compels us to be protective of women. Furthermore, most (unfortunately not all) people grow up being taught to respect women and be courteous. This is a result of the 'chivalric' era. This is why men are supposed to hold doors open for women, seat them, etc.

But of course, the biggest factor is that this is a community of nerds..

Like he said. Evolution.

Natural selection favors those who can have more surviving descendants.

People are nice to Tiana, but that might be because she's been expanding her knife collection and occasionally mentions various torturous experiments performed on prisoners, among other things. She's a sweet girl.

But then, that's in-character. I've never gotten any special out-of-character attention on my female characters. Most of them have flown under callsigns and ship names rather than their own name. This is coincidental, since they tend to be in lines of work where a certain degree of anonymity (or heavy firepower in the case of ship names) is useful, but it's also useful.

Hehe, she should get in touch with my Maquis. They could have a nice chat about breaking the life and spirit out of people... Colette particularly likes the feel of blood running through her fingers. I should probably send an envoy out to the Corsairs to see if they have any nice "equipment" for such things...

I didn't think this sort of thing worked in Discovery Server because almost every female character is roleplayed by a bloke. This is common knowledge.

However, during a WarCraft 3 multiplayer match I was close to losing the game when I told my loud mouthing opponent, "you know it's not nice to be so rude to girls." The guy apologized profusely for cussing me out and went so far as to offer me a free victory.

That was crazy. I think I'll pretend to be a girl more often on the Internet. And if I tell them I'm 14, oh boy, get ready for supreme win.
