Better... I don't think one is better, Bastet simply have more agility, while sacrificing a bit of power and armor, Neph on the other hand is tough with big powerplant, while being a bit slower...

It's really up to your style and liking, both can be " the better one".

They are two completely and utterly differnet ships, used very differently.

Bastet for me. Looks and handles better. Six codenames on mine.

It acts as a support ship. You would not want to be anywhere near me if you do not have shields.:lol:

As a lone fighter, you can survive longer. (I know I survived pretty long against two BH bombers and a fighter.)

I'd say Bastet, just because of it's better manuverability and higher firepower per hit
but I think the Nepthys has a forward firing turret...right? So that's basically an extra weapon

My recommendation for a Nepthys:

4 Reapers. (Due to 600 speed).
Two Nomad Cannons(The Order-allowed variety sold in Omicron-100]
Razor.

Congratulations. You are now God.

Also nepy has a 7th gun.. forward firing turret... so it has more firepower in any case....

Nepy thus is the best, greatest and uberpwnz, the other one is more of a HF, with lvl 10 guns... wich sufficently rapes at times, but overal nepy might be a better choice.

I've tried both, I went for the Nepththys. It's one of my favorite ships in the game not just because of the performance, but because of the looks too. I'm using 4 nomad cannons (long story, don't ask), 3 reapers and a Minirazor, and I've been beating the crap out of nomad morphs ever since. Sure, it might be a bit slower, but it compensates for the tank armor and damage output.

And on a slightly off topic note, the Avenger should have the Nephthys powerplant and armor. I mean, it's bigger, it has one less gun, on a crappy powerplant for its size. And they're both as slow. Also, the Nephthys is actually Avenger's brother, so they should have equal stats.

I prefer Nomad Blasters over Cannons. More dps, higher refire. But yeah, that's an awesome loadout. Huge damage potential there. Only problem is that I need to work on my aim with that loadout.

Yeah. Great forward firepower on that thing. Still, I think hex codes would probably deal more all-out burst damage.

Nephtys for me, more armor, firepower and one fire-forward turret. Awesome.

I use 1 tizona turret, 4 reapers V and 2 Blasters Nomads.

Bastet for me. Agility ftw! Used to agility. 2 Debs+4 Death Hands+Mini. If only i'd hit better with the Mini. If i fly my Titan, i do so. Don't know where the prob is, maybe a tad too agile?
Anyways, Bastet, is also a rare ship. Besides, i really like it.
