' Wrote:I agree with Rudo here , lets focus on the Salvager. This is a particular issue I forsee I will have alot of problems with in case it continues.
Back on subject , I kind of doubt that the ship would get a CD, as it would make it the best pirating vessel available.
How is that an issue?

and we do have an example of a gunboat that is meant to be a transport, too - and thats the zoner GB.
i must say, i m a bit disappointed that it cannot stay a transport, cause i don t think its unbalanced as it is - but if it becomes a real gunboat, .... it does become a "real" gunboat - not a very good one though - its still a pile of junk from a non military faction.

I don't know the reasons why it was made into a gunboat after all these months of no reported problems, but it was fine before that happened.
And yeah, turning it into a 'pure' gunboat really messes up a lot of Junkers who use it as a main transport, myself included. I was thinking along the lines of opening it up for more effective piracy as it's reclassed as such. Comparable to the Pirate Transport or the Raba.
If it's going to be treated as a warship, give it an effective combat role that doesn't require more than the average amount of support. As of right now it's roughly about as combat effective as a Shire or CTrans, and if moreso then not by much.
I really don't want it to go GB at all...either by rules or equipment buff. It is a "salvager", not a GB or a full fledged transport. If there is a problem reduce the number of guns it has and keep it under the transport class...oh...please, with sugar on top.
It's a bigger issue than simply making it a gunboat too. A lot of players have built rp on and around it. It was billed as the "family heirloom" ship of a typical Junker. Most aren't flying gunboats.
It is pretty balanced as a transport. handing is not great not overarmored or overly armed and nowhere near a match for bombers or capital ships. Can we hear why it was decided it had to be a gunboat?

There is this. It's meant to salvage metals and such, not kill the vast hordes of enemies the Junkers possess. A transport makes far more sense, whether like it is (I guess not), or modified accordingly.

Actually, I'm going to weigh in my agreement here.
It was fine when classed as a transport. In terms of RP, it should be kept a transport.
