' Wrote:Hmmmm... well if it isn't common knowledge that they are mobsters, perhaps this idea will help expand that area of gameplay? I'm not sure myself if Junkers are respected as they should be. Like Sprolf said, I don't think many people pay attention to the Junker's facet of RP. One of the key parts of the mafia is respect. If they are like mobsters, they should be respected and efficient at organized crime. Unlike barbaric pirates, they plan many steps ahead and deliver efficient results. But before I continue on... I shall research more into this.
My junker, and a few others in the congress, (including our Dear Leader Rudo, more or less) rp ourselves as mob bosses and such, but the congress is very big and loose, and there are plenty of people that I don't know wtf is up. I think we even have a taxi driver who just flies a freighter around Liberty.

What I think you can take from this thread really, is that if you want to make some kind of mafia group, you have an ID, IFF and equipment* waiting for you. Personally (obviously) I'd like to see the junkers played more like the mafia. Quite often at the moment they're all buddy-buddy with everyone (in regards to how they act with pirates etc) whereas really they're basically disliked by everyone. They protect themselves and their organisation, which is obviously done at the cost of outsiders. Not building enough of the 'respect' you mentioned. Which should be grudging respect, too.
Yeah this post is getting in to ramble territory. Basically, I think a junker id/iff "mafia" group would be good.

*barragers are terrible.

You know what.... I agree with you!:D I did some more research, and deemed that the Junkers and Hogosha are very similar to this idea I have. But your post here pointed out something. The Junkers are basically disliked by everyone. Now no offence.... I always looked at the Junkers ingame as scum.... I really didn't mean to offend any top Junker players right there! You mentioned grudging respect. I like that term. It basically describes what I am trying to get across in a nutshell. Even if this idea is scrapped as being too close to the exisiting factions.... Perhaps it could be applied to them instead?

Essentially everything this thread describes.

But very very well.

There's a reason why they managed to become the most hated/feared group in Liberty.

Don't forget the most profitable.

I like the whole Mafia RP idea. I think it could be fun for a good lot of people.
