The guard's walked around the corner chuckling at a joke.
They were decapitated by a high powered laser beam that the convict around the corner had fired from a welding torch. a welding torch connected directly to one of the ships powerlines.
The prisoner put down the torch and walked over to the former gaurds headless corpses. he removed their stun batons, access cards, and automatic pistols.
"About damn time" he muttered to himself as he walked away from the corpses.

adam looked at his handheld comm device. frowning as he saw the alert that two gaurds had been killed.
"again?" he muttered to himself. "if things get much worse, we might get inspected by the navy or law enforcement outside of the LPI.... we'd get closed down before they explored half the ship..."
"wazzat?" enquired a guard who walked into the room.
"nothing impotent. theres a escaped prisoner somewhere on sublevel F. he's armed, feel free to use any level of force needed. just leave enough of him intact for a pos-ident"
"i'll see what i can do" says the gaurd, who draws a nasty looking rifle and walks in teh direction of the lift shaft.
