But it's ok to "farm" Bounty Hunters, Corsairs, Outcasts, Hessians, ad nauseum?

Missions vs. npcs are part of this game. I'm only suggesting that Nomads are included in the list of npcs that can be hunted on missions.

To my knowlegde, a player can take missions against the Wilde. So why not against Nomads?

for bounty hunters and the order i d wholeheartedly support it...

for zoners i would not really. - zoners are 70% a trading faction, 30% something else. - there is no mission against zoners, too - NPCs factions regard zoners as neutral enough not to offer missions against them - and in turn, zoners don t do missions against others.

The BHG and Order should get those missions anyways. Would add some spice to the game.

The Zoners shouldn't get the missions. They know about the Nomads, but they should not have the military expertise to fight them. That's the Orders task.

True. The Zoners don't have missions against any human faction. However, the Nomads (in canon and game) don't take Zoner neutrality into their calculations. Zoners are human and humans must be purged from Sirius as the desecrators they are.

But I think I understand where you're coming from. Zoners would rather have someone else do the "heavy lifting" when it comes to combat. Especially with the Order as close allies.

It would be good to hear from another Zoner voice concerning this poll.

If Cheshire's opinion is what the majority of Zoners think would be feasible, then we are left with Isis and Dabadouru as Nomad mission stations. Not bad, really.

Megiddo, by your logic then nearly every faction could get a mission against Nomads, just because they're not friendly towards them. Sorry, but that's only for Order and, to an extent, BHG.

You guys are funny, now it's no wonder the good things aren't going anywhere. They don't purge Outcasts, and they're humans too. You got a severe logical problem in that statement you attribute to them. What gives?

Ah well, not like I want to be involved anymore. Do whatever you want.

Missions against Nomads, just from the Isis and Dabadoru...
What about the Corsairs, them are also operating in that area?

Also.... when we would get missions against the true enemies of mankind, where is then the proposal for missions against the Wilde?

Nomad npc farming was one reason why so many players with/in an uncountable number of capships rushed into the Omicrons.
Thus, the Nomad Battleship patrols have nearly all been removed.

And now you want to add there missions?
So them all come back there after the word was spreaded throughout Sirius that you actually can do missions against the Nomads.
How much more people do you want to attract to the Omicrons?
Lets deal with what we got there, sort that issues out we already have, before thinking about adding a posibility for more 'lolwut' in the Omicrons.

This may be a good RP addition, but I see the OORP behaviour following the implemantation of that.

So..... my vote is NO.

- thx.

You have a lot invested in the Keepers, so I understand your distaste for this poll.

My suggestion is have Nomad missions for the BH and Order. The Order obviously concentrates on the Nomad menace, while the BH Core is seeking to acquire Nomad tech, for their own purposes. The Zoner option doesn't look like it will fly, which is ok by me.

I think the majority of participants in this thread understood, that I was not suggesting that every faction should organize missions against Nomads.

I have nothing to do with that NomAid thing, so there's no point in wasting your gunpowder on this particular matter.

Last time I checked, Nomads are hostile to all humans (in canon) - therein lies the premise of my statement. Not mentioning the Outcasts was a mistake on my part, but I figured that OC relations to the Nomads/Keepers were already widely acknowledged.

Has nothing to with the Keepers. As a matter of fact I said it long time ago - I don't mind Order and BHG having missions there, it suits them. Zoners and the rest? Nope. The missions themselves personally I'd rather seen described as suicidal types - you don't go there alone on the battleship.

Don't judge intents by the color of the simple linear "affiliation" bar, doing so is quite flat, oversimplistic and quite sometimes mistakenly, it doesn't even reflect the true nature, especially when you deal with subjects like these. Ever seen a diplomatic threads with the Nomads? Nope, and you will not see them. Why? Because those that do - they happen behind the scenes, thanks to the countless metagamers just waiting to spoil the mysteries and conspiracies the next moment they, the players of that type, read them.

"the true enemies of mankind" - nice from the Order-type folk title I admit, but it ain't true, save that flattery for the phantoms, please. This ain't marvel/dc comics you know. What goes in mind of our characters stays in mind of our characters, and doesn't go into the players level for argumentation on boards.

First, the Corsairs: Even as an Order agent, I wouldn't be particularly keen on letting Corsairs do anti-Nomad missions from Isis. Corsairs are pirates and should be busy doing piratey things. That said, I doubt that the Order could prevent the Corsairs from taking missions from Isis - outside of preventing Corsairs from entering Minor.

Nomad npc farming: Farming, in and of itself, is not necessarily oorp. For example, my BH Core character would collect Nomads for shipment from Delta to Atka or Cambridge. I got an escort together and we all had a bit of fun flying through enemy territory.

Regarding cap ships: People like flying them. Some use them reasonably, some do not. The only way to deal with "lolwutters" effectively is to take out all the cap ships in the mod. And that would be a really bad idea for the server on the whole.

And another thing about capships in the Omicrons. A capship, on average, has a much better chance of surviving missions and random npcs in a capship. That's one explanation for the ratio of capships to fighters. At least, that's my experience.

If you're worried about being oorp-assaulted by Good.Ship.Ganks.A.Lot and his buddies in various makes of capship, I've found that bombers are a very effective countermeasure. Especially since the introduction of the current mod. Just ask the participants in the weekly BH-Order events.

Thanks for your input.:)
