I do not know. Jinx' proposal was the first serious Rheinland lawful model I've seen for a long time. I would like to do it, but I am a horrible modeller.

I asked because you seemed to imply that there'd been a switch in who was building big space things in rhienland...if its still Daumann, I don't see how the ships should be radically different, and that model is radically different. I can see some changes, but the evolution of things, especially by the same producer, is generally rather smooth...furthermore, after a thousand years of shipbuilding, I rather expect they've got the right shapes down.

Ah okay, now I understand. Sorry then I got this evil language barrier.

Look, Daumann was and is the producer of the Rheinland ships. With huge yards like Oder or Alster they can construct the huge ships. But they compete with ALG Waste Disposal for the next generation battleships.

ALG engineers are planning to construct a shipyard out of Dortmund station, to be able to produce the ships on their own. Due to their alliance to Kruger, Gateway and the IMG they are abled to get all neccessary resources.

This is at least what the lore tells us.

I am concluding, that the next generation of Rheinland ships WILL look differend, but will have a similar base. Jinx' proposal is such a ship in my opinion, as it involves old parts and new parts.

Due to the war with Liberty, which can not be won with insame masses of metal, Rheinland needs smaller, but movable, practical and reliable vessels.

Please correct me if I am wrong.

It's only the front section in my eyes. Rheinland ships all have some kind of 'head', where either the bridge or the cockpit is placed. It would be really awesome if you would manage to implement such a design.

The rear part is good as it is.

Where did you get the idea from? Since it wasn't from looking at Rheinland models.

Edit: I just realized that sounded a bit flamey, poor communication, rather I was honestly curious what the train of thought that led up to the model was.

Its... its.... WTF?

It doesn't strike me as very Rheinlandic when I look at it, and texturing it with Rheinland textures is probably going to be a huge pain... (Then again, what ship isn't if you want it to look good?)

yes - i sometimes have some twisted thoughts when it comes to similarities.

but for real - don t you guys think that the front section with the "forehead" and the thrusted out "chin" looks a bit like the cruiser?

of course - the "head" of the cruiser is a lot shorter and it looks like a pregnant goose. - but i do see certain similarities.

[Image: HardPointEditor2009-08-2318-28-38-9.png]

i know - its a bit far fetched - but to me it has certain similarities. - think of the cruiser as the base - add a few heavy armour plates and a heavier head.

I think there are too many rounded parts. Rheinland ships have some, but most of the rest are straight edges.
