' Wrote:its meant to be fun in the sense Fighters can have a better role in protecting cap ships instead of having projectile weapons that just go Bam hit bam hit Kaboomie
Edit * they managed to pull it off fine in star lancer. yet if i recall the only damage that would occur is the fighter that collided with the torpedo an the fighter an the torpedo going up or the cap ship that got hit by the torpedo it didnt have rediculous scatter damage
It's no fun that a fighter has to suicide to save a cap ship that's goin to go boom anyways.
This isn't Starlancer. We don't have the source code. Cap ships weren't even meant to be ingame until we put the models in.
I'll explain why it's impossible.
Projectile hitboxes are very small. They would be very hard to ram. There is no way to get damage to bypass the shield. Therefore, unless a fighter rams the thing shieldless, all it'll do is lose shield. The projectile will always be shot down, as far as I know it's impossible to get it to only register collision damage and ignore every other type. And for your numbers to destroy all caps at the same number of hits, hull points would need to be reworked so they are the same for every battleship, which would ruin the balance that has already been established.
