Well, lets just take a quick look at forum indexes.

Welcomes...while small, that's 13k of threads and replies. anything more than 3 months old = toast.

Role-play hub (et al). roughly 70k posts total that should be considered sacrosanct.

Rules (et al). How long do we need to keep sanctions? 6mo? 1 yr? except for the perma-bans and things of that nature, the "player warned" doesn't really need to stay there for more than six months does it?

Factions. Sticky subject there. I'm sure there's tons of threads that need to be toast, but who makes that decision? and does a mod have to go one-by-one and weigh their worth?

RP 24/7 General Discussion. 120k of threads and replies? since cries of "gravedigger" and "necromancy" come up with anything more than 3 months old (or 2 weeks for the spammers), Perhaps a six-month time-limit on them?

Developer Forums. I'm sure there's a lot of old dev threads that can be toasted very easily. Any ship currently in the mod doesn't need it's thread there anymore.

Flood. get rid of it all. please? I'm begging you. There might be five worth-while threads there.

I do have a question: If posts and threads and such are deleted...what happens to people's post-counts? I know of a LOT of people who'll just go back to spamming to get their custom user-titles again, and you'll be back to the same problem you've got now.

.

Quote:I'm thinking that Igiss would have to set permissions for us to be able to post in the news thread/forum.
I did that now, sorry for not noticing earlier... I thought that no one's willing to post there:)

Quote:Also what dates are going to be removed? I saw the 2005-2007 comment up above. Is that the range that posts will be deleted in?
I believe the moderators will refer to feedback (including this thread) to define topic importance of different forums/threads and what are the "cutoff" dates. Manual topic removal is a lengthy task, even with super admin tools that allow to select multiple threads at once. And you cannot expect that, if there will be a few valuable threads hidden within tons of Flood, we won't be able to save those.

Post counts won't change unless we recount them (and recounting with our number of users is a huge pain, so I'll hardly do that). Board totals (total number of posts, threads, etc) can be reduced though.

In that case I'd like to suggest a "Keep These Threads!" list that the mods can refer to.
Post your ideas and I'll update this list. If you don't post your suggestions, and you lose that thread it's your own fault! THEY WILL BE DELETED! OMG. OLOLOL. MOD WTFPWNzzzorz

There was a great thread with admin photos somewhere. Maybe even in Flood, I can't recall where exactly.

Will threads in the stock exchange bearing "closed" and similar remarks in the stock exchange be deleted?

Also, the random threads in Flood? (Furthermore, deleting all of the posts in "Spam Here" and allowing everyone to begin again in that thread may be an idea, along with removing the thread entirely.)

Will, personal threads be deleted? (Like the ones that are a collation of quotes and character stories, etc?)

Anything I say is not intended as offensive, and to try and deliberately misinterpret it as such would be an attempt at trolling via misrepresentation.

It's not a conspiracy, it's localised bias. They're not intelligent enough to form a conspiracy.

Probably. They already are deleted, as it is.

Yes. This will probably be where we'll focus.

No.

I'm going to contradict Mr. Virus up there. There is a very good chance that any 'personal threads' in Flood will face delition. You should A) Copy it somewhere offline B) Bump it. I'm not going to spend much time reviewing the flood threads I delete, just selecting as many as possible.

Will pictures attached to posts that are stored elsewhere, like on Imageshack or Photobucket, be subject to the 75KB limit?
