Stop stereotyping, and get ingame to teach these guys.

"Lolcaps" and etc ad nauseum ad infinitum can turn into great RP'ers. Coach them.

I'm not sure there's that much of an imbalance, so much as things flowing back and forth. Last fall there were lots of people talking about how there were Bounty Hunters everywhere.

I think one good thing is the addition of some flexible type ships for the police, like the SHF in Rheinland. With bombers being more specialized, allowing the police to shoot at fighters and larger ships seems a good thing.

Alternately, very slow, strong pulse cannons on all of the tradelanes.

I've seen 4 lawful capships and a wing of fighters run around hunting down straggling pirates, and I've also seen no less than 15 pirates grouped together at once, some of them Outcast, some of them Rogue, some of them Hacker, running around New York in bombers and gunboats pwning the hapless 1-3 eency weency lawfuls trying to protect the space.

It's mostly a problem of 1) Some people don't know when it's unsporting to join a fight and horribly unbalance it, and 2) unlawfuls love to group together and own everyone left and right.

Frankly, it seems the unlawfuls are SMARTER than the lawfuls, as they know how to ensure their victory by doing this, but it's nigh impossible to get independent lawful contractors to group together effectively, and lawful faction members rarely get on en masse at one time. If the numbers were equal, it wouldn't be such a problem to have 10 pirates running around together, but it's usually 2 guys in fighters trying to uphold the law, and so they are destined to fail.

Prod the lawful factions to get on more regularly rather than stick to their events. The BAF in particular never ever get on with more than 2 guys at a time, but when they have an event you can see 14 of them in one system. I don't even bother to fly my BAF character anymore because I'm ALWAYS ALONE. (And because my ping prevents me from successfully shooting down anything when flying a fighter. Very demoralizing. That's what my funboat is for, to give me a chance to live.)

Thats because entire BAF is online on unlawfuls, as is most of the people. And yes, poor few lawfuls in underequipped fighters being blasted by funboats everywhere who are just interfering into everything with only fight on their minds. And honestly, almost everythign happens in Liberty.

how about some sort of information system installed on trade lanes for authorities? i dont know if it can be done, but lets consider an example situation:

-there is a navy/police pilot in new york, and a pirate in i dont know - california
-the pirate disrupts the trade lane between mojave and cali minor
-the security authorities pilots recieve a message that a trade lane was disrupted between mojave and cali minor
-someone goes and checks it out, finds out there is a pirate etcetc

you know where am i heading with this?

I understand what are you saying, but i'm not talking about "unlawfull awareness". i'm talking about "lawfull shortage". let's take your example, you are liberty mil/police that recieved distress call. you respond, arive to the california, and at the location encounter 2-3 pirates. my question is: do you have authority in that situation? do you think that pirates are thinking about fact that you have entire "state" behind your back and that it's better to comply with your demands? no, i don't think so. they will attack you, destroy you and continue pirating.
that is the reason i recommended 4-5 times stronger lawfull ships, because only one lawfull is enough in that situation. yesterday in whole bretonia there was only 2 (two) BAF...
btw i like the idea about much stronger weapons on trade rings.

Like in gallia, put weapon platforms with missiles nearby.

If lawful ships were made 5x more powerful, as you've said, I wouldn't be able to pirate anymore. At all.
As it is, on my Pirate Transport in Liberty, I get attacked by swarms of lawfuls almost every day. More often than not, an LABC is in the mix, with a whole bunch of fighters/bombers, and if they were made 5x more powerful, I wouldnt even stand a chance of running. The only reason I can still operate is that I have a few friends who are great funboat pilots, and they can take on this sort of swarm with no real difficulty, but if they were made 5x more powerful, no unlawfuls would even go online, and when no unlawfuls go online, there is no one to pirate traders, no reason for traders to call for help, and lawfuls have nothing to do.

This whole idea would very likely dry up a lot of RP.

Whe you've got tons of pirates completely owning Military/Police in their home system theres something wrong.New York being the worst by far.

Hah Liberty are supposed to be at war with Rheinland and they Cannot even take care of pirates in their home systems.

I think you need to give unlawfuls some incentive not to get caught by lawfuls.

Like for instance just of the top of my head beam unlawfuls into Bastille when destroyed by a lawful for a couple of hours or something.

Good idea, but I don't think it can be done though. Someone prove me wrong.
