And now,on your topic.
The Solaris doesn't need a buff.Why?
That will be one more reason for the,not so experienced and PvP orientated players,to make a full solaris Battleship and go hunt the Barghest/Falcata/Praetorian that just pirated their traders.

Here's a solution for you.
You'll need something to do missions with...well mount dual missiles.
When you are 5Ks from the mission,disengage cruise and wait for your energy to regenerate.
Then,head to waypoint.When you see the group of NPCs,select the middle one and fire both missile turrets at once.After that,Jam the "Reverse Thrust" key.When the missiles hit,the whole group will go down.
Now,you'll need something for player fighters and bombers.
The Battle Razor is the perfect one.Put in a separate group so you can fire it with extreme accuracy.
When the Player's shields are down,activate that group and shoot you razor at him.The Battleship Razor's projectiles travel very fast,and it's not that hard to hit with it.
Fill the remaining slots with Primaries and maybe one Heavy Mortar.But with the primary turret's damage,there's no need of mortars.And no,you don't hacker turrets on your Outcast battleship.
With that setup you'll be able to blow most of the capital ships away.You can also launch your missiles at cruisers that are sniping you with Light Mortars.

Thats got hardly anything to do with this thread. we are debating if solaris need a buff not what to do with each weapon...

To anyone who claims BS Solaris are underpowered: make a Hessian fighter, bomber or gunboat, then sit around in Omega-5, make sure the Corsairs notice you. Then wait for a solaris osiris to come, and enjoy.

You think I am exaggerating? Short of cruiser spam or another BS, that thing is untouchable. It cannot be killed, you can throw 5 bombers at it and they will get picked off one by one. If they stay at the "safe" range, they won't hit anything with SN. If they come closer, they roughly lose some 20-30 bots worth of damage. That's some 5-6 runs at most and they are dead, they'll be lucky if they can pick shield off in that time.

Of course people like Cam have no idea about this, but that doesn't worry me. The point is full solaris BS is a bugged ship, and it's going to get fixed soon enough.

Dude, you say Solaris needs a buff after you tested them on a Cruiser? Those turrets are against Bombers, and nothing else.

A Cruiser shield has 5 Million Shield Units and a Very Heavy Fighter one for Bombers has about 600K. You see the difference?

I understand their power but there energy is soo high for such a small weapon its doesnt make any logical sence... Increase the range at least a few hundred meters.

Solaris are just fine... i don't see problem with it. I have 5 on my BS and they work fine. I can defend from every smaller ship there is. 6 Cerbs mounted with them take care of anything bigger then bomber.

Solaris are anti-fighter, bomber weapons.


ARCHANGEL
Refire Rate: 2.00
Range: 700m
Speed: 600m/s
Hull damage per second: 2800
Shield damage per second: 1400

Nomad Energy Blaster

Refire Rate: 4.00
Range: 700m
Speed: 600m/s
Hull damage per second: 8720
Shield damage per second: 4360

Solaris Battleship Turret
Refire Rate: 4.00
Range: 1099m
Speed: 2400m/s
Hull damage per second: 6000
Shield damage per second: 3000


As you can see, the Solaris BS Turret is 30% faster than the Archangel, 3 to 6 times stronger than most Code weapons, 1700m/s faster than the fastest gun, and has a range 400m greater than most fighter guns.

What more do you want?
