Its great Discovery found a free host. These admins put enough time and effort into keeping the freebe running. They shouldn't need to pay cash as well.

I can't wait to learn more about the split universe add-on. Is the DAM remote manager still in the makings?

Is the server with a community member or someone completely not involved in Discovery?

The server is being hosted by a friend of a community member. This friend is not playing Freelancer, but has
granted our community member full access to his company's server room at all hours.
He has also guaranteed that the Discovery RP 24/7 server(s) will be hosted free of charge* there for as long
as necessary.

* Free, except for a yearly donation of 6 Czech beers to the server host

I heartily approve of that payment situation. Czech beer should be legal tender everywhere.

Admins, thank you so much. I was able to hop on last night and finally make my characters. I have a nice warm feeling inside.

Cannon, thank you for all your work, and I can't wait to see how the universe split works out. The things you are doing with an extremely dated server program are truly amazing.
