An escort is worthless, but sending some LVL 5 'fleas on ahead will make your life easier. as a bonus, most of them dont know how much the credit is worth, and you dont need to pay them well.

Can you tell this topic has already been addressed? Can you tell it's starting to get on my nerves when someone brings the same topic up 12 times in 2 months?

Yeah, back when I was in a trader faction our escorting and convoy system was so effective we rarely lost a single transport or escort. Escorts fly ahead of the main group and if something happened, they'd distract them enough so we have time to slip by in the trades or plan an alternate route.

Escorts can very very effective, just ironically I think the best type of escorting ship is a bomber which shouldn't be. VHF need a faster way to kill bombers, and a faster way to kill things in general.

Thats why smart pirate parties establishes pirating nets instead of sitting in one spot.

Not many smart pirates around though to be honest, and someone trying to escape can do things which are utterly unpredictable. I don't see why people just make life for pirates so easy... I mean, I'm not complaining, cargo piracy is hilarious as a result, but if you spend a little bit of time thinking about how to avoid getting pirated, then the pirates have to think how to get around your defence measures, then you have to think up new ways of avoiding piracy, and it gets better and better and better...
