Guard Systems to me, should be armouries with a purpose. Are they supply bases standing by to arms ships for war? Are they there for secret research? Are they there for best profits to those who are authorised to enter.

Guard systems need a purpose depending on their faction's goal/s.

All militaries and pirates needs a very secure armoury and shipyard sector;
Corporations need command centres that are secure and away from prying eyes;
Nomad research facilities (all houses have them to a point) needs to be very secure and have battleship cover.

My opinion.

For any navy/police, each fighter patrol wing should include bombers.
The straight line paths between jumpholes (where more than 1 gets left in) should contain more cap patrols than normal. Should be a limited minefield around the holes so you are an even easier target.

For corps, hevy fighter/bomber swarms at the hole, along with wep platforms
heavier fighter/bomber swarms around bases, along with some wep platforms.

For anything nomad research related, several static BSs at the entry points. heavy everything.

People shouldn't trade through Guard systems. They should not hide in there from pirates and just sit there, 'lol'-ing as the pirate is eaten alive and the trader not because they've neutralized their rep.

Agreed, thats another good point.

Not to mention a reason for adding NPC bombers.

So for half a billion credits, a reasonable faction creation request, and half a dozen members I get a system that will be only for the few members of my player faction. I will take anyone else entering our system as a personal insult. I will do my best to get sanctioned those that log off in it without being found, or blasted apart. I will get mad, angry and upset each time an intruder enters (definition varies). I will want to prevent interactions with other players on a server that is often operating at full capacity. I will introduce a system to the game solely for the purpose of keeping players out of it. I like to order around anyone who enters. It gives me a sense of power.

Most of all, it will be just MIIINE!

Pretty much yeah. Guard systems are fortress systems, if you dont belong you should be eaten on sight.

You wont see a truck driver going thru a secure military base to cut a few minutes off of a run for example.

Quote:(]c[) now officially owns the system and I try to enforce a "no go" rule but I can't be there all the time.

Funny part about that is you might have your shiny name on a sign outside the door, but you cant stop other zoners from going in. Nor can you stop other zoners from going through there to get to Kappa.

Guard systems shouldnt even connect to other guard systems (like Tau-45 [Xeno Guard] to Fukuoka [Kusari State Police Guard]) It just doesnt make sense. They should connect to two regular non guard systems.

Just look at Oita. Its used as a connector between THREE guard systems. Whats the point of it?

So people found Jumpholes, who Ageira recommend not to use... to go to their private armoury?
