Nothing is truly objective, yet we currently have somewhat of a system in Discovery where we try to make it as such.
I am just making it more transparent, and in my opinion, less bias.
Perhaps it will start another round of flames in Discovery, perhaps it will work for the main part. (As with cruise drain and so on, we will never know unless we try it.)
Actually, no, it is not, otherwise such threads would not pop up.
I would go on to explain how it is not clear whether a request is denied or not, but I doubt it would make any difference as you have your mind made up on this proposal.
Yes, I have made up my mind on this. Since you were asking for opinions I shared mine and saying that if it is to be open it has to be different. Viewable is one thing, I for one have apps visible for everyone at my faction boards, but only applicant and members can post there. If app is denied it is closed. If it is approved it is moved to approved apps section, but still only applicant and members can post (in fact it is set so in forum configuration). Just because it works for me doesn't mean it can work here due to somewhat different mechanics. For all opinions/suggestions/criticism stuff there is PM button.

Threads pop up on any subject no matter how crystal clear it is explained elsewhere. Some just don't look, others don't read thoroughly and so forth. It is inevitable and threads will appear, if not more than it is already.

I am glad you shared your opinion.
As I did say before, my proposal may need tweaking.
Eventually, I want to get it to a stage where it can be tried out.
Hmm, well, I'm up for some improvements, but there isn't too much we can do without causing problems both ways. With the current system, it takes time and the results tend to be hush hush without people actually going to look for the approval. By that time, there may be a few sanction reports against the SRP player in question due to a low key approval.
However, making it more transparent puts a lot of decisions up for complaints, abuse and even as the internet goes "nerd rage".
Both ways have flaws, a lot I'm probably not seeing too. But for now, if it ain't broke, don't fix it.

Because I'd rather keep them quiet as they are now, if anyone needs to check who has what he could take a look into the SRP Directory, then, if he is interested in the Roleplay he can use the Search Function to find the Person's written Story for it or take as I just saw the new Links within the Directory.
"Who is it doing this synthetic type of alpha beta psychedelic funkin'?"

Most complaints can be constructive and helpful, but most around here tend to be one sided and with a hint of hate.
Its debatable whether the complaints will increase, but some people may take it harshy and lash out. Let's face it, its the Internet.
So, if people are rejected in an unclear fashion, in a PM, or on skype, or in another thread which they have to create, like they do now, they will not take it harshly?
I can see how if things are more visible, they can lead to more outright complaints. On the other hand, when things are more quiet like they are, it leads to some conspiracy thoughts and quiet finger pointing. So both have pros and cons - a middle ground would surely be best.
Maybe have posts visible in a pending section, and then deleted when decided either way, with approved going to a list like now. Or possibly an overview of the sort of things that get declined for people to have some reference?
