I'm interested in joining the group if it does come down to it. Though first I'd like to point this towards LeMaitre to see what his opinion is, as he's the BAF Fleet Admiral, it'd be good to see what his opinion/suggestion, for ID and IFF.
Can I be the inefficient, RP-happy cannon-fodder, Spatial who will absorb hits for the first minute and a half of a fight? Please?
Even if the ship is awful, I love it forever and ever.
-Edit- Oh, right. To be constructive: I like it. May I suggest, however, adding the X-Shuttle to the list? I believe it's sold on Harris, and it might be a nice RP addition in some scenarios. Just a thought.

I know, ive sent him a PM yesterday or so.
I await his response aswell, gotten a positive remark so far from one BAF member, besides yourself;)

Haha, Magoo! I fly a spatial, and ask the guys ive fought so far, it isn't just fodder it's also a good all-round ship:P
But everyone is welcome, I am currently working on a weird Ranking system, but alas, I am taking a drink or two at the moment as well:)
And anyone that can RP a patriotic citizen worried of his home, just join us;)

And well, I have thought of making it allowed, BUT, it is seen as Unlawful, but I haven't decided yet.
Although the Sabre is used mostly by outlaws, it still is considered an allowed/tolerated piece of equipment, tasked for tolerating the harsh circumstances of the Border Worlds for those who are not affiliated with any of their inhabitants. A civilian vessel, used away from house space.
You can stay with the Eagle regardless, it's a fine ship aswell and yeah... more civilian in a sense.

The concept of the faction is great, however there's one thing I'd like to suggest:
Focus on internal tasks more throughoutly, rather than throwing yourself into the frontlines. The BAF are away from home, so the level of internal security also drops. Thus, I suggest that you put fighting terrorism in priority and Kusarians secondary. I would imagine the tasking as this:
The BAF fights the war on the Leeds front, holding back the invaders, basically doing most of the war themselves.
The QCP disrupts the enemy supply lines.
And the Militia secures the internal territories of Bretonia, whilst the BAF/BPA is busy with the war.
Basically, you would be defending your homes as citizens. No reason to wander into the Taus for example, there's the QCP for that.

THIS!
Is excatly what I was thinking, thank you, and yes, I think that the BM will concentrate on protecting the core systems and planets, against those threats that break trough.
I think this will work out well.
Thank you for your comments, it gave me much to work on, in a positive way:)
Right now, Ive made the BM try to be everywhere at one time, that wont work. So im going to rework some of the ideas in being a core systems militia, protecting the planets and such.
And, someone mentioned X-Shuttle, I can add it. It is civilian indeed and sold on Harris so it fits.
Thanks so far, keep the ideas and suggestions comming
Edit: I will consider adding the Sabre, maybe even open up relations with the Outcasts, asking for some of their sabres, as it is after all civilians using them.
My question is: Are you reserve pilots, civilian volunteers who couldn't pass the medical exam, or something else? My thinking is that most people who were medically able would have been drafted by now, but you could RP them as a reservist group. (This would qualify you for BAF weapons/ships.)
From my perspective, this seems to be a grassroots militia movement, as you use civy tech. To me, being an unofficial ragtag militia group would be a bit more colorful than an BAF copy.

Am I right? Sounds cool either way.
Aye this pretty sums it up good..
Well this is not a BAF copy, as they wont use their tech, until they provide the Militia with it, they are indeed right now, civilians in civilian ships using civilian weapons.
As the BAF probably can't give out tech right now, since the war requires allot of resources.
They are the citizens army, no big military training.
Think in the middle ages, the farmers with pitchforks trying to protect their homes.
' Wrote:I kinda like the idea, but to put things to rest between the Militia and QCP, I think I see where it's going.
QCP are in fact trade interdiction, who operate mostly in the Taus and Kusari.
Militia will be a fighting wing operating within Bretonia (Upper Leeds mainly?)
Correct me if I'm wrong?
Yep, pretty much.
And protecting Bretonia Core space while the BAF concentrates on the frontlines and the QCF in Kusari and Taus.

So a civilian force concentrating on keeping the peace of the Bretonia core systems while occasionally helping out with the BAF. Sounds to me awfully close to the Bretonia Police.
I like the idea of a volunteer fighting force a lot, but wouldn't this be accomplished just as efficiently if you all joined (or recreated, since I never see them nowadays) BPA instead?
It would be nice to have some kind of police in place again.

Basicly, being police would be wrong, this indeed is the citizens being recuited into service as Militia, as England/UK have done before, this isnt the police, it isnt the Armed Forces, it's a citizens guard/army, ready and able to serve their nation with their lives.
And no they aren't police, they can't order people around, asking them to drop their cargo or what ever (hence why the Freelancer ID and BAF IFF is a good idea) they don't have that authority, they are less then the BAF & the BP.
They are a Militia, im sorry but, that would make things clear enough;)
hehe
Joining/Recreating the BPA would cause for this to become something completely else, entirely:)
Edit: As a militia they would be trained slightly by the Armed Forces (a Officer will be the ones leading this, of course this character doesnt exist yet, and would be created together with the BAF leaders), but not nearly as much as the Armed forces, they wouldnt have the resources or the training as BAF and BPA, meaning they are indeed citizens..
