Protoss pwns Zergs, with Malestrom, in particular. Terran owns Protoss, mainly because Lockdown, and Nukes. Zerg... well... they own everything. I participated in a tournament a long time ago, and I was 3rd, with my faithful Zerg... got punk'd by a Protoss, with a few Arbiters. Then, the smart guy used mind control and stole my entire fleet, and with it, he won the day, he utterly destroyed a Terran with it. Before he was losing. What could I say? Smart move... :(

Protoss was practically the best since you were able to capture enemy workers with mind control enabling you construct their buildings and units. I dont know what the new version brings though.

You can't compare starcraft races, they are all different.
Hence, the best SC race is the one that better suits your playing style.

I tend to disagree Korrd at this one. I still play very well with Protoss and Terran, but with Zerg I am better. The Terrans will always have "the edge" when combating Protoss. Air superiority, you say, like with 12 Carriers and support ships? 6-8 ghosts, Lockdown+Nuke and no more carriers... Same things goes for Protoss when they combats Zergs. If a Zerg attacks with a fleet, I'd rather freeze them all, not steal 2 units, which probably won't do any good in the long run.

And Kress, if you manage to steal a Probe/SCV/Drone, you usually already won the game:)

I know a guy who participated in a national tournament a couple of years ago who embarressed 7 other players under 40 minutes with the Protoss (mind you, this guy might not be human :unsure:)

As for Supreme Commander... what a disappointment... enjoyed Total Commander, though...

I hope Starcraft II is better than Warcraft III. WC3 had great graphics and a great story, but sucked when played outside of the single player campaign.

One word... DOTA !!
