Regarding Bundschuh - Let's wait how the first battles end and we can decide later.
Now speaking of the day and time of the battles, I can only be present to one per week, and I prefer Friday. But TBH have several Elders and so it can happen twice a week (friday+saturday). Now the time, 22:00GMT is midnight in this part of the year for me so starting later is also difficult, do you think we need a vote for it? The battles won't start precisely at 22, it will tahe some time to gather forces etc.
@Virus: The second one meant to imply that the Rheinlanders hadn't yet called up their reserves, or redistributed the southern or eastern fleet. Sorry if it sounded biased, but the second one was meant to mean that the Corsairs didn't even get through Frankfurt.
Ok, Ill write them again, based on the Roadmap majkp put up. This is based on how far the Corsairs get through Rheinland:
* Fulda Border Station, Frankfurt
[*] The Corsair northern fleet struck at the Rheinland boarder station Fulda to open the way for more Corsairs to pour through the system. However, the Rheinland military had strengthened the station defences, and had stationed a large defensive fleet in the area. The Corsairs fought hard against the military, but the offensive ended in a complete failure. Relentless pushing against the Rheinland line by the Corsairs yielded little in terms of progress. Some Rheinland forces were destroyed in the area, but the Rheinland northern fleet was well supplied and rearmed after every attempt to pierce their line by the Corsairs. By the end of the failed offensive, the Corsairs had taken heavy losses, with Rheinland suffering relatively little comparatively. What was left of the disheartened Corsair fleet fled back to Omicron Gamma, to be broken down into smaller regiments to counter against a potential retaliation attack.
[Consequences: Scrap field constaining Osiris wrecks and Rheinland cruiser wrecks around Fulda boarder station. Large numbers of Corsair titans and small number of RH wraths.]
|
V
* Planet Holstein, Frankfurt
[*] The initial invasion of Frankfurt by the Corsair's newly formed Northern fleet seemed to be successful, but as the Rheinland defence fleet quickly organised a defensive around Holstein, the Corsair fleet ran into problems. The sphere of defense around planet Holstein was impenetrable to the Corsair force, however hard they tried. They had destroyed Fulda border station earlier, and had pressed on, but the Corsairs could not sustain the offensive on Planet Holstein. Ships were being rolled off the planetside assembly plants faster than they were being destroyed above Holstein, and the Corsair offensive ground to a halt. Many Rheinlanders fell in the defense of Holstein, but more Corsairs fell in their attack. The Corsair northern fleet was forced to retreat back to Omicron gamma after wasting their forces around Holstein, while the Rheinlanders celebrated their small losses throughout their defensive efforts. What little of the Corsair fleet that made it back to Planet Crete was redistributed to the outlying outposts that the Corsairs had operational, to prevent the Outcasts exploiting their weak position and to resist a possible Rheinland counter attack.
[Consequences: wreck of Fulda boarder station made, small scrap field around Fulda boarder station wreck, large scrap field around planet Holstein, one RH cruiser wreck and one Osiris battleship wreck. Large numbers of Corsair Titans and medium numbers of RH wrath wrecks.]

* Mannheim Station, Frankfurt
The newly formed Corsair northern fleet blitzed through Frankfurt when they attacked, taking the defenders of Fulda border station and planet Holstein by surprise. However, Rheinland forces were directed to make a stand at Manheim station. The Rheinland military northern fleet was quickly assembled at Manheim before the Corsair attack. After the Corsairs had finally looted all the useful equipment from the wreck of the Strasbourg, they assembled for what they thought would be an easy victory. What confronted them when they arrived at Manheim was the full battlefleet Westphalia and her escort. A fierce battle ensued, but the Corsair forces were hopelessly outmatched. The Corsair battleship Altaneria was forced to jettison its engine block as it was hit multiple times by the Westphalia. As it desperately tried to power away under its secondary engines, it was disabled. The rest of the Corsair fleet fought valiantly to push back while the wreck was recovered. As the wreck was being towed back to Tripoli, the Corsair line broke at Manheim, and the Rheinland military initiated a brutal offensive operation to wipe out the Corsair presence in the system. They did this to great effect, as the Corsair forces that didn't participate in the failed attack on Manheim were caught completely unawares by the battlegroup bearing down on them. The skeleton Corsair garrison of Holstein quickly capitulated. The Corsair offensive had been turned into a rout, as they were ruthlessly driven out of the system by the Westphalia and her escorts. The Corsair northern fleet ended their offensive with a bitter retreat to Omicron Gamma, where they were ordered to garrison and patrol outlying Corsair territory, in preparation for a counter attack.
[Consequences: small scrap field around wreck of Fulda boarder station. Battleship Strasbourg turned into a wreck, with medium scrap field around it. Manheim station surrounded by a massive scrap field with small radiation in it from the Altaneria's engine block. Large amount of Corsair Titans, medium amounts of Rheinland wraths.]

* Bautzen Station, Dresden
The newly formed Corsair northern fleet spearheaded by the Brotherhood battleship Altaneria struck into Frankfurt. Several easy victories saw the Corsairs quickly destroy Fulda border station, take planet Holstein and occupy Manheim station. However, when the optimistic Corsair fleet jumped into Dresden to begin phase two of their offensive in Rheinland, they were met with the firepower of the Kreig and her escort. The Corsairs attacked fiercely, but could not disable the Kreig or her main escort vessel, the Rheinland cruiser Vineta. After the Corsairs wore themselves out, the Kreig and her escort counter attacked. The defense force left behind in Frankfurt failed in their attempts to push back the marauding Rheinland force, and the Corsair garrisons at Manheim, Fulda and Holstein quickly capitulated to the counter attack. Once the Corsairs were forced from Frankfurt, the Krieg and her escort began cleanup operations. It almost wasn't necessary, as most Corsairs still in Frankfurt abandoned their positions and ran home with the tatters of the defeated Corsair northern fleet. The fleet, upon arrival to Omicron Gamma, was divided into smaller sections for securing Corsair borders, defending all fronts against possible attacks from the Hessians, Outcasts and the Rheinlanders.
[Consequences: Fulda Border station made wreck, small scrap field with fighter wrecks. Battleship Strasbourg made wreck and fighter wrecks around it with scrap field. Manheim station still active with scrap field around it. Large scrap field with an Osiris wreck and a RH cruiser wreck (not the Vineta) around Bautzen station with lots of Titan and wrath wrecks.]

* Battleship Altenburg, Dresden
When the Corsair northern fleet had finished organising in sigma 13, they attacked the Frankfurt system and completely surprised the defenders of the whole system. Many had taken the rumours of a Corsair fleet sitting in the sigma 13 gas cloud as a false rumour, and it was more or less business as usual when the Corsair fleet attacked. The defenders of Frankfurt stood no chance against the blitzkrieg type assault on the system, and could only watch in horror as the system was over run by Corsair forces. Fulda border station was detonated, Holstein occupied and Manheim was garrisoned by the marauding invaders. The Rheinland fleet had not fully amassed at Bautzen station in Dresden either, when the Corsairs pushed on with their assualt. Coalition forces soon joined the attackers after their victory and subsequent garrisoning of Bautzen station. The invaders morale was very high as they pushed deeper into Dresden, the next objective to disable battleship Altenburg. However, the Rheinland forces appeared to have played the waiting card. The Corsair forces grew careless in their assaults, and when the combined battlegroups Kreig and Westphalia met the Corsair northern fleet around battleship Altenburg, it was clear what the outcome would be. The Corsairs attacked again and again, every time to be forced back by the Rheinlanders, taking more casualties each time. Even the Coalition had suffered heavy losses at the hands of this massive combined battlefleet. When the Rheinland battlefleet counter attacked, Corsair forces in the area withdrew immediately, knowing the offensive had failed in its objective to take new Berlin. Most Corsair forces were able to retreat due to the bravery of a few pilots who volunteered to stay behind to hold off the unstoppable Rheinland juggernought relentlessly pushing towards them. The Corsair forces, including the Altaneria, escaped back to Omicron gamma, to be congratulated on a partially successful offensive on Rheinland. The fleet was kept in unit cohesion, and was prepared, at length for an attack against the Hessians in Omega 11 and Omega 5.
[Consequences: Fulda boarder station and battleship Strasbourg made wrecks. Scrap fields around Bautzen, Holstein, Fulda and Manheim, all containing many Titans and many wraths. Osiris wreck and two RH cruiser wrecks spread across the four fields. Also, a RH gunboat wreck in one of the Frankfurt scrap fields.]

* Brandenburg Border Station, New Berlin
When the newly formed Corsair northern fleet attacked Frankfurt, initial results proved very successful. Most military and all police resistance in the system had been wiped clean. Fulda boarder station had been annihilated, planet Holstein and Manheim station overrun, Bautzen station occupied, the Strasbourg and Altenburg transformed into smouldering wrecks. In Dresden, the Corsair battlegroup had recieved heavy resistance from battlegroup Westphalia, but the Corsairs had managed to punch through the opposing fleet, and poured through the gap in the line. The defending forces around battleship Altenburg were consequently ensnared in a net of Corsairs, and destroyed. However, it was when the combined Corsair and Coalition forces had jumped into and started assaulting Brandenburg boarder station that they ran into severe problems. The Brotherhood flagship Altaneria had been partially damaged in the fighting beforehand, hurriedly patched up to keep the strategic momentum of the attack through Rheinland moving. However, the damage it had sustained in earlier engagements meant that it was no match for the Rheinland military battleship Kreig, and it was forced to retreat in a backwards battle. For the first time in the offensive, the Corsairs were retreating. The commander of the Altaneria, (insert name here), ordered all Corsair forces to fight the Rheinland battlegroup, similar to the composition of the battlegroup Wesphalia. However, without battleship support, the Corsair and Coalition forces didn't stand a chance against the defending Rheinland battlefleet, and were pushed back through Dresden and eventually Frankfurt. The backwards battle was fierce, but it appeared that the Rheinlanders had regained the strategic upper hand. The wreck of the Altenburg was reclaimed, stations Manheim and Bautzen liberated and Holstein cleansed of the Corsair garrison stationed there for the duration of the offensive. Any Corsair forces that weren't slaughtered in the Rheinland counter attack retreated home to Omicron Gamma. The Elders, while not entirely satisfied with the result of the offensive, congratulated the returning forces, and redistributed the Corsair northern fleet across the boarders of Corsair space, in preparation for a defensive measure against any possible aggressors.
[Consequences: scrap fields around the wrecks of Fulda, Strasbourg and Altenburg, as well as stations Manheim, Bautzen, and planet Holstein. Corsair wrecks less than Rheinland wrecks in these areas. Massive scrap field around Brandenburg boarder station with Osiris and Rheinland battleship wreck (one each in this field). Many Titans and wraths in this field too. Two RH cruiser wrecks, another Osiris wreck, and three RH gunbaot wrecks distributed across the smaller wreckage fields.]

* Planet New Berlin, New Berlin
When the Corsair northern fleet attacked, they took Frankfurt completely by surprise. The relentless push of the Corsair offensive drove through strategic targets such as Fulda border station and battleship Strasbourg, reducing them to scrap metal as the defending Rheinland forces failed to organise in time to protect the system. Even as the battlefleets Westphalia and Kreig were forming, the Corsairs linked up with the Coalition forces in Dresden, occupied Bautzen station and destroyed the battleship Altenburg. The Rheinland forces were too slow in mobilizing to prevent the fall and occupation of Brandenburg boarder station. However, when the Corsair fleet had resupplied in preparation for the assault on planet New Berlin and the Ring in orbit above it, both battlegroups Westphalia and Kreig had formed in orbit above the planet. Despite the massive power of the combined Corsair northern fleet and Coalition forces who had managed to blitz their way through the breadbasket of Rheinland, Stuttgart, the combined fleets Kreig and Westphalia were more than capable of holding back the relentless onslaught of Corsairs above planet New Berlin. Twisted metal, and wrecks of larger ships fell on the surface of Planet New Berlin as the battle raged overhead. However, the outcome was clear almost from the start. Neither the Krieg nor the Westphalia fell in the battle, but the Altaneria could not sustain fire support, and was forced out of the engagement with almost critical damage. The remaining Corsairs fought valiantly, but the outcome of the battle was never really in doubt. The Rheinland forces had their capital covered adequately, and the Corsairs could do nought but consolidate their losses and retreat back to their home, Crete, packing up all the valuable equipment they could before the Rheinland forces decided to counter attack. When the Rheinland forces did counter attack, they found only a few of the stragglers of the Corsair offensive, held back from escaping by failing engines or an overloaded cargo hold. The retreat was successful, as was the offensive. Rheinland forces were severely weakened by the Corsair invasion, and were stretched nearly to their breaking point in defence of their fatherland. The Elders of Crete congratulated the many survivors of the Corsair northern fleet, and kept the Northern fleet organised for a redeployment in the Omegas.
[Consequences: Scrap fields around the wreck of Fulda, Strasbourg and Altenburg, as well as scrap fields around Holstein, Manheim, Bautzen, Brandenburg and a massive one (mostly Corsair wrecks) surrounding planet New Berlin. Mostly RH wraths in all the scrap fields except the one in new berlin, with phantom wrecks mixed in too. Titan wrecks are plentiful around planet New Berlin. Many RH gunboat wrecks, a few RH cruiser wrecks, one RH battleship wreck, two Osiris wrecks, spread around the fields listed above]
And If the Corsairs win above NB (Hence, war over...):
The Corsair northern fleet attacked Rheinland forces with great success. Frankfurt was over run in a matter of days, with little resistance encountered. Transports were moved in to take valuable equipment from the wrecks and bases overrun in Frankfurt. The Corsair fleet linked up with the Coalition task force, who had rampaged through Stuttgart. Both battlefleets Kreig and Westphalia had been encountered, but both were overwhelmed in a pincer movement by Corsair and Coalition forces, trapping the battlegroups and wipeing them out, with the Altaneria providing fire support throughout the whole engagement. Disaster after disaster struck the Rheinland military forces, as they were overrun on all fronts. When the combined fleet moved into New Berlin, they encountered much heavier resistance from all Rheinland forces, civilian, police and military, all willing to die for their Chancellor. Many did. Most were mercilessly slaughtered by the invading combined fleet, those that survived moved up into Hamburg. After a fierce battle where many Corsair lives were lost, both on the ground and in the air, New Berlin was finally captured. The flagship Altaneria sent a transmission to the Elders of Crete, and they began their journey to Rheinland to address their new subjects. However, all was not as planned. The Hessians of Dresden, combined with the Bundschuh of Frankfurt and the remenant of the lawful Rheinland forces in Hamburg combined into a massive force, completely eclipsing the severely depleted Corsair fleet in orbit around planet New Berlin. An urgent transmission was sent to the aproaching Elders, who managed to land back on Crete before anyone noticed. Everything that could be stolen from all the bases captured by the Coalition and the Corsairs were taken, and the combined fleet fought a fighting retreat. Slowly, the assorted Rheinland fleet took back the key position, Brandenburg boarder station, and pushed into Rhienland. Corsair reinforcements were non existent, and the onslaught could not by stemmed. The combined Corsair-Coalition fleet lost Frankfurt, and was back at its starting point in Sigma thirteen. However, the Combined fleet had managed to destroy almost all organized resistance by the Rheinland military, and the criminal elements had been weakened in their counter attacks, opening the way for the Unioners to overtake the Hessians and become the biggest criminal organisation in Rheinland. The Northern fleet and Coalition forces were greeted warmly by the Elders, despite their failure at holding Planet New Berlin. However, the point had been proven. The greatest Corsair offensive in the history of Sirius had been an almost complete success, crippling a house without letting themselves suffer heavy casualties. The Northern fleet was repaired, resupplied, and readied for another offensive operation. Where, it hadn't been decided.
[Consequences: Massive Scrap fields covering planet NB, Holstein, Bautzen and Manheim. Strasbourg, Altenburg and Fulda all wrecks, smaller scrap feilds around Brandenburg and Fulda. All contain medium amounts of Titans, massive amounts of wraths and sabres (Bundschuh, Hessians...). One Osiris wreck, two RH battleship wrecks, 6 RH gunboat wrecks, 4 RH cruiser wrecks, all spread across the fields above.]
===================
The battleship wrecks, Strasbourg and Altenburg, will be replaced by other battleships in Rheinland such as the Alzette (recently decommissioned i gathered??) and other names I am sure can be thought of at a later date. I wrote this in two hours of my life, fast at that, so any feedback NICELY would be appreciated. Bear in mind this is what would be displayed on Road to Rheinland part IV, and not the rumours in Rheinland, so they will be biased. However, I have tried to be less biased (Virus). This is about as neutral you get from a Corsair point of view. Also, I have invented a scenario just in case we win a battle over New Berlin, which is very unlikely.
Maybe we could do it earlier on Saturday then, such as 6-7PM GMT. I am sure most of the Americans will be up by then, and it wont be too late for those that need to go to bed earlier on Saturday.
Also, could we have two battles per day (or maybe one on friday and two on saturday). Like say we attack Fulda, win, then move on Holstein, then lose and move back to Fulda. Thats it for the week, maybe at differeing times for those that can and cant get on.
I know its a double post, but this is my opinion on a matter brought up while i made the first draft of the first post.
RHA can join later but waiting for them is pretty uncertain business as 80% of new factions become inactive after 1-2 month. I like the story of RHA, and I think they might be successful, but more events will come (at least from me)...
Sooo we start this friday, 22:00 GMT!
The battle will start as soon as we agree on the ships ingame.
I realise as a Lt. in the RM I am no suppose to post here but PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE can we run this on Saturday! Or Even Sunday! There is a snowball's chance in hell that I can be there on Saturday at 22:00 GMT, or pertty much all day. I would give anything for this to be changed.
Sorry for coming in even though I am not a Seinor member of the RM.
Ok, I will try and be there for the first offensives. Either in a bomber or gunboat hopefully.
I wrote the predicted rumours above in my last posts for everyone to see how we would get on. Those rumours and the consequences associated them I would like comments on. The rumours that will appear are the ones depending on how far the Corsairs get through Rheinland. So, If the furthest we get is Holstein, then I hope to use the one about Holstein. I hope you can stand the wall of text enough to read each one and comment on each one.
Is there anything apart from the rumours that need to be discussed?
EDIT: I remember now: The Coalition forces should have two battle points. Maybe planet Baden Baden and Planet Stuttgart. The Rheinland forces will be forced to defend two points, or try and stop one while letting the other proceed to its next objective. For instance:
Corsairs attack Fulda boarder station and lose (twice), but Coalition forces attack Baden Baden, and win, attacking planet Stuttgart and win again (seeing as I am getting the impression that there are two battles per week). This means, that the Coalition forces can link up with the Corsairs in Frankfurt trying and failing to attack, helping them take Fulda. This also means that the Coalition fight side by side the Corsairs in a combined fleet, which the RM have to try to stop takeing Fulda. It would probably harder to do this, so RM objective is to stop SCRA and TBH forces combining, while stopping the forward movement of the Corsairs.
IMO, the RM battle between the Corsairs and SCRA should take place at the same time (in Frankfurt against the Corsairs and Stuttgart against the SCRA), so the RM can't redeploy forces to cope with attacks from one side then the other. Bias, I know, but a pincer attack like what has been planned by the Corsairs would be executed simultaneously, preventing the RM from combining their force, at least in the early part of the offensive.
